"I love you with all my heart....."
Is that really appropriate to say to another woman in front of your wife in front of millions of people....?
Not to mention the really awkward near kiss and the constant touching of Jo's stomach tonight. I'm not trying to start a Strictly curse rumour but I would really not be happy tonight if I was Ore's wife. |

Portia seemed very happy, so I think you're overreacting.

Tbf, didn't Oti and Danny have a near kiss? Both female partners seemed relaxed about it

Im not a fan of Ore's but i think what he said was indicative of the hyperbole celebs are expected to spout at those moments. Just an intense moment and probably highly exaggerated by the adrenaline of winning.

Back to OP's point - give me a break! Over the course of the series, each contestant is asked (on the main show AND ITT) "what do you want to say to your partner" in so many ways that if you last till the final, you have very few options left... |

Maybe Ore spent the whole of Strictly drunk. Think about it, somebody with no dance experience danced without inhibition, he cried a lot, and he said "I love you, man..."

I tell my friends I love them all the time and they say it back. I'd probably say something like than in an emotional moment. Don't think there is anything romantic between Ore and Jo at all. Just gelled as friends and I do believe they will stay in touch.

I get the impression Jo has made friends for life in both Ore and Portia.

I remember Matthew Cutler saying Alesha was "the most amazing woman I've ever met" - more amazing than your mother? Pro dance partner? Previous celeb partners?
All meaningless hyperbole said in the heat of the moment. |

I just knew someone would get sniffy about that.
It's entertainment, a dance show. No big deal IMHO. |

I did say to the Mrs that Joanne and Portia are very much alike, looks wise.

Oh give it a break, when you spend that long a time working intensely with one other person there's a high chance you'll strike up a very close friendship - but it's clearly nothing more than that.
I loved both Danny & Oti and Ore & Joanne's partnerships because as well as producing great dancing they seem to have become genuinely close friends. And if you look on social media and read/watch interviews with them you'll find that Ore has mentioned several times that his wife and Jo have become really close so he's usually the one being left out! And Danny and Carley have been out for dinner with Oti and her husband. All four of them are in relationships that by all accounts seem happy, so why start unnecessary, baseless rumours?

it was a bit like danny's 'this is the best thing that has ever happened to me in my life' speech...
i think they just get caught up in the moment. or i hope so anyway. |

I never tell my friends I love them - it would just feel a bit fake for me to say it. But I would do anything for them and them me. |

I found it well over the top and my OH, the least jealous person in the world, commented on how awkward some of their moments were tonight (without me saying anything) |

I said that too. Well, obviously Jo with make up on. Her 'morning face' is quite different.

They all do the in-the-moment "oh you're my best friend forever. I adore you." rubbish. It means nothing. I don't believe that all of them who ramble that crap actually mean it. Some of them remain friends, of course.

I clearly said I wasn't trying to start a rumour did I not...?
![]() Anyway, I prefer to take things at face value rather than being overly suspicious, I find the whole thing much more enjoyable that way. And at face value all the evidence I've seen points to Jo & Ore and Danny & Oti both having great friendships and genuine warmth towards each other, nothing more. |
