Well it's been fun and I feel privileged to share in your art but, with your bad temper, foul language, halitosis and tendency to break wind in lifts,I'm glad we won't be training together any more.......
just once.

Portia and Joanne look so alike. So when Ore said to Joanne that he loved her with all his heart, he probably visualised Portia IMO.

I think that's absurd, sorry.

That's your opinion. You don't have to agree with me. That is why I said IMO. Please read before challenging a post. I have every respect that you don't agree with me.

haha! Has Ore seen Jo's 'morning face'... nudge-nudge...
😜

In the world of tabloids starting a thread like this basically gives the Daily Mail fodder to start a rumour...

Anyway, I prefer to take things at face value rather than being overly suspicious, I find the whole thing much more enjoyable that way. And at face value all the evidence I've seen points to Jo & Ore and Danny & Oti both having great friendships and genuine warmth towards each other, nothing more.
Oh shush. The people at the Daily Mail only look at Twitter, Reddit, Mumsnet and the Kardashian/Jenner/West's social media accounts.

I think that's absurd, sorry.
So do I although I'd pay money to see Portia's reaction when Ore told her that.

Funny how the Daily Mail referred to posts on this forum (though without naming it of course!) in an article about the final earlier in the week (yes, I'm a shameful closet DM reader, I get amusement from spotting the number of basic spelling and gramme errors and factual inaccuracies in the articles...)

I must have missed that. They do mention DS occasionally but generally quoting from soap star interviews.

I'm not in the closet about it - I read it for the showbiz stuff, because I'm fairly shallow and judgemental* and used to enjoy pointing and laughing at Kim Kardashian's big fat fake arse before the big fat fake robbery, not the political rhetoric.

Is that really appropriate to say to another woman in front of your wife in front of millions of people....?

Not to mention the really awkward near kiss and the constant touching of Jo's stomach tonight.

I'm not trying to start a Strictly curse rumour but I would really not be happy tonight if I was Ore's wife.
maybe but I think it would be a lot worse if he said it to Jo in private behind Portia's back.

It's just Ore getting lost in the emotional moment again, I think we all know what he's like by now!

I think if there was anything going on, he would be a lot more careful about stopping himself from saying things like that.

I thought that was a bit awkward. Intense physical efforts can bring out powerful emotions, of course. Adrenaline is in full flood and so forth. I can only assume that he got a little carried away in the euphoria of the moment. On reflection, he may think that he might have phrased that better.

Do you say that though? I love you with all my heart?

I never tell my friends I love them - it would just feel a bit fake for me to say it. But I would do anything for them and them me.
I think in a moment like that where it was both a huge triumph and an ending I would do. I think my friendship group is lucky in that we don't find it awkward to vocalize our affection for each other. I know a lot of people do and I remember getting off the phone from one of them in front of an acquaintance and they were really surprised that I ended the call with "I love you" when I was saying goodbye. I think it's sad to only vocalize romantic love because there are so many meaningful relationships in life that aren't romantic.

They seemed to have genuine affection for each other. He seems a bit hyper for her, a little too gushing - she seems pretty grounded.

I wonder how many more Ore bashing threads we're going to have? Maybe the mods should merge them into one.

Where would it be "appropriate" IYO...in a ten quid an hour backstreet hotel?

As to your matrimonial prospects I would stick with your Ken doll as your best bet if I were you

I get the impression Jo has made friends for life in both Ore and Portia.
I think it was mentioned in their first VT on the main show or on ITT that Joanne was introduced to Portia by Ore and Joanne told Portia what was involved and after 5 minutes told Ore to leave so they could have some girl chat.

I thought it was awkward as well. Ore and Joanne do seem more tactile than other dancing couples on the show, holding hands, very touchy feely with each other. On ITT he constantly had his arm round her, hand on her leg etc, I don't recall seeing others being like that. You can have a good professional dancing relationship and connection without constantly pawing at each other. But obviously his wife knows that's what he's like and isn't bothered.

I really don't care enough to start a rumour I just thought it was out of order.

I think in a moment like that where it was both a huge triumph and an ending I would do. But people say I love you all the time and it ends up meaning nothing. I like to keep it special

As to your matrimonial prospects I would stick with your Ken doll as your best bet if I were you
Personal insults. Always a nice touch.

I only say it when I mean it too. I just consider my very close friends to be people I love too. It doesn't diminish the meaning for me.

How pathetic is this OP with the irritating nickname?

You either get a 30 minute lecture on the different kinds of love (friendship, companionship all the way up to Eros, lust, which definitely did not apply here) or get escorted to your rightful place which is under a big big bushel somewhere.

Everybody else, especially Portia and Mum and Dad, were watching the dancing and I cannot believe they would not have echoed Ore's thoughts exactly to the genuinely flabbergasted Jo (who last year or year before last was left without a celeb to dance with!!)

Some people really should have all their new threads moderated.

as others have said I think Portia would have been more worried if it had been said in private, Portia has been involved with his time on the series all the way through from when she first met Jo before training. What they don't tell us is that Jo's BF Joe was there too and when she stayed over in Manchester for training stayed over with her too - he was in Switzerland last night so could not be with her for the final but he has been involved as much as Portia all the way through.

They are obviously very close and it doesn't help that Joanne looks similar to Ore's wife but I do just think he's a caring guy and that it's no more harmless than if it had been a girl saying that.

Ironic given your comments on another thread lecturing about people not having manners these days.
