I've read some comments that tonight's final was a particularly good one, and also there have been observations both now & in the past that finals are often a bit flat without the best dancing from the celebs.

In your opinion, what year or series has had the best final?
Not just in terms of your favourite contestant, in terms of dancing & atmosphere etc?

I thought the marking was fair tonight - whereas last year the over marking of Kellie just left a bad taste in my mouth - as was the comments of the judges in the after show on the red -button. But I also felt the dancing tonight was on a higher level than on previous years and the fact that we really had no idea who was going to win it in the end.

Tonight.

Warm, supportive, electric atmosphere, all three couples danced to such a high standard, we saw their best routines of the series and Ore and Jo produced moments of magic and the best ever Showdance.

Three couples works better than squeezing in four.

The tribute to Len was poignant.

I think this year has been one of the best, it was too close to call for me right until the end, which doesn't often happen, and the standard of dancing was so high. Plus none of the showdances were pointless lift-fests, they all had more substance than that.

The other standouts for me are:

series 5's five-dance spectacular between Alesha and Matt
series 8's fabulous contest between Kara and Matt
series 9's Blackpool spectacular

Yeah I enjoyed it! Sad about Len leaving, handled beautifully. The big celeb dance at the end was probably my favourite bit, especially the group Gangnam style ! Pity Will Young decided to bail. Poor Karen I bet she thought yippee when she got him!

Hands down. And can I say I much prefer 3 couple finals. 4's too crowded and I like that everyone got to perform all their dances before we decided (oh what could've been had Sophie got to reprise her Charleston!)

I agree with all of this. I loved tonight's final - 3 couples or less really does make for the best finals.

I really enjoyed tonight, thought all the showdances were outstanding compared to last year, would like to see Ian Waite replace Len.
