If you read what I said Louise and Kevin are middle england. They are. How anyone can question the sabotage of Louise is beyond me. It was so blatent. They didn't care if Ore and Joanne or Danny or Oti won.
She just wasn't as good and only those who cannot be objective abot the flaws of their favourite will try and find someone to blame for their failure. Plus the BBC don't give a stuff who of the three won. It doesn't matter to them one iota. |

The problem I have with these fix claims is who gains? Why would the judges or the producers care if Louise or Claudia is in the final? Judging is by definition subjective and if it differs from your opinion it doesn't mean there's a fix. Personally I thought it was a toss up between the two who most deserved to be in the final, but that both Danny and Ore were clearly more deserving, but that's only my opinion and if it had turned out differently I wouldn't have thought for a moment that it was a fix, simply that others had a different opinion, to which they are perfectly entitled.
But reality TV *is* a soap opera. The producers *do* have to create interest. Therefore, they tread a fine line. They need to create some tension and compelling narratives in order to get viewers hooked and talking about it and thus drawing in new viewers as word spreads. At the same time, they mustn't take it too far and make it too obvious, else people will turn off. See: X Factor. Nobody at Strictly HQ cared who won. Everybody at Strictly HQ cared that the largest possible number of people tuned in to see who won and that the conversation about who won lasted for as long as possible. But y'know. Ore danced best over the three routines last night so it all came out in the wash. And my adolescents and their mates got to shout FIX FIX FIX for no other reason than they are all crushing on Oti. And they probably enjoyed shouting FIX FIX FIX more than they would have enjoyed her winning. That's reality TV for you. (They were still shouting FIX FIX FIX when I picked up them up from the station at 2am by the way. So the producers will probably be happy because they'll have forgotten about FIX FIX FIX next week when they've found some other hapless woman on TV to crush on.) |

Almost ALL of you have FAILED to answer the question I asked whichwas basically this :
Everything was, apparently, being skewed to engineer a win for Kevin. Three times a finalist but never a winner, he and Louise were, allegedly, consistently being overmarked, were getting the best music choices with Louise being overpraised despite being extremely 'beige'. As a final show of alleged "favouritism" towards L&K, they were pushed through to the Final, at Claudia's expense. despite being the worst in the semis, So why, at the final hurdle, were Louise & Kevin given THE worst Judges Choice of the three remaining couples - not only their joint lowest-scoring dance but also the most exposed for the super-conscious Louise?. Everyone was screaming "Fix" when things were seemingly going their way - was their Judges Choice a similar "fix" in their favour. This is my question, so please feel free to respond - TO THIS. To reiterate - I am not, nor was never talking about a "fix" in Ore's favour... ![]() I think the 'fix' was to get these three to the final. I don't believe the show is that bothered who takes the trophy, but they do want to create storylines and entertainment, though whether you or I like their storylines is another matter. I don't think anyone in production really believed Louise's cha cha was the dance to set her final alight. I truly believe they did everything they could to get Ore into the final. They're privy to the voting figures, so perhaps if Louise's vote was strong, she didn't need the same leg up. Danny's dancing was probably going to be strong enough regardless of machinations (though I do wonder if it was a shock to them to find him in the DO in the semi-final). They wanted Ore's SITR (great story if you can get Gene Kelly's widow to make an appearance); they wanted a 'wow' ballroom dance from Danny and the QS filled that brief and was improvable; they needed a contrast so Louise drew the short straw. I suspect they thought Louise had enough public support to potentially win, but Ore performed better on the night and had a better showdance. Either one makes a better 'story' than Danny winning, but I think, in the end Ore's was the one they ran with. I don't think Louise gave them enough to work with - it was mostly 'unconfident at the beginning. A tiny little bit more confident at the end'. All of that said (or speculated ), there would have been a Brucie Bonus for the show whichever of the three had won.

So my take on it:
Louise is the only finalist not to be in a dance off but is the weakest of the three and they didn't really want her to win over the other two. They gave her a dodgy choice for the first dance, scored her accordingly. They did not expect Danny to make errors on his first dance. By the show dance, they once again picked fault with Louise and used this as an opportunity to put Danny back up the score board. They then gave them all full marks for their final dance. I don't think it was fixed as such, but I do think they gave Louise a bad choice for a first dance to dent her ranking and influence votes towards the boys. Kevin's best shot at winning the final would have been if he had competed with Frankie in this year. |

I don't think that it was a fix, I'm just genuinely shocked that Ore won. I thought that even though he was competent in all 3 dances in the final, all of his performances were pretty dull.
