Anyone else think that Len's orchestration of Ore's winning chances was an abuse of the head judges powers?
Emphasising that Ore was the only "amateur" dancer in the final and was the most improved certainly gave waverers someone to vote for. Coupled with the on-cue tears from Ore and the multiple shots of Ore's parents, there is no doubt that Ore picked up the sympathy vote tonight. There should be a rule that judges are always seen to be impartial. ![]() I also agree that the crying was on overdrive tonight and again the show was highlighting Ore's parents as often as they could when he was dancing or getting results. Danny let a few tears fall getting scores, but he didn't fall apart or make a show of it. Now its possible Ore is just really that emotional (although there have been times I swear they are full on crocodile tears) in which case fair enough. I am happy for Jo beating her big bro to a win on Strictly though, but I honestly didn't feel he was the best tonight. But its all subjective I suppose <shrugs> |

Twice it was mentioned and emphasised that Ore was a non-dancer. What is that if it's not biased deliberate trying to swing the vote?
It's dirty politics. |

It still wouldn't be the same as studying dance as Danny and Louise have. Clutching much.

I suspect Danny's lack of progression was a factor (ie: he started off excellent & didn't go anywhere after that) |

FFS - I despair. Studying acting does not equal studying dance. If people accept that Ore has natural aptitude, why can the same not be said for Danny?
Also- Danny has danced in the West End previous to being on Strictly. He's insanely over qualified for a "learn to dance" show. Same with Louise really. I have no idea if Ore has had private or previous dance lessons (quite possibly) but no where near the level of the other 2. |

It's dirty politics. People make their own minds up, other years a non dancer has lost to someone who has a lot of experience, it depends on a few things, popularity and then persona. Another person who they pointed itnout on was Mark Wright, but then he didn't win, so I am guessing nobody thinks that was biased in any way? |

I know picking up on spelling and grammar isn't the done thing on here but considering the context... Quote:

Thing is IMO Ore has not gotten better since week 4
he was very lucky in the semi that the judges thought he was good enough for top of the leader board and that the judges decided to tie others (dont tell me they dont know who is more popular with the viewers vote) he did not dance well last week and the AT was just posing and the QS was not worth the marks he got I feel for Claudia as it should have been her in the final and not Ore It makes me wonder what the BBC have lined up for him |

Not at all.....he didn't need it. He danced his socks off. The artistry, the showmanship, the subtle expression and technical ability all came together and got the job done. The other contestants got similar shots and were emotional as well. Sad for you that your favourite lost but I'm very proud of the voting public.
The original post is simply asking the question about how much Len's comments affected the result, particularly when Ore was bottom in week 7 with 9 still in the contest. |

I agree that Claudia was undermarked, her QS was beautiful, but why did she deserve Ore's place in the final, why not Claudia in Louise out? Louise was very poor last week, I believe Louise should have been on the bottom of the leaderboard on her own. It's no conspiracy, they have all been overmarked anyway. |

You say it was jot worth the score, so that must be true then?

I'd agree that it really should have been Claudia in the final instead of Louise, not that there was any question about Danny or Ore being the top two. Personally I voted for Danny as he was my favourite, but I can't say I was disappointed that Ore won, both men were absolutely brilliant IMO.

I don't get where this acting angle is coming from. He studied acting specifically prior to ArtsEd, but did a Performing Arts degree at ArtsEd. There is a heavy emphasis on dance in these courses, and a poster on here who is obviously highly involved in the dance world has previously stated that the institution produces consistently great dancers.

Funny how Len has never had a problem with ringers in the past. We got it Len, your double standing ovation and twice reminding the public that Ore was an "amateur" said everything about your impartiality

Obviously Danny Mac has rubbed people up the wrong way behind the scenes.
