Anyone else think that Len's orchestration of Ore's winning chances was an abuse of the head judges powers?

Emphasising that Ore was the only "amateur" dancer in the final and was the most improved certainly gave waverers someone to vote for. Coupled with the on-cue tears from Ore and the multiple shots of Ore's parents, there is no doubt that Ore picked up the sympathy vote tonight.

There should be a rule that judges are always seen to be impartial.
Len is always impartial. What he said was quite true and it wasn't new information, we all knew about it. He certainly didn't "stick the boot" into Danny, he praised Danny. We, the public, did the voting.

Well done Ore! Well done, too, Danny and Louise; no mean feat to get the final of Strictly.

I think Len needs to go on a how to be subtle course. IMO he was pathetic tonight.
No,.what would be pathetic is if people voted on anything other than who they felt danced the best on the night.

Danny has been in 2 musicals.
2 as an adult, 1 as a teen.

He went to arts ed . Where he will either have done the Musical theatre course or the cating course. As they took him into Wicked for his first job - which requires singing and dancing, I imagine it was more likely to be musical theatre. He could have cleared that up , and his cv doesn't list his skills online - as his agent doesn't do that.

The arts ed MT course looks like this
https://artsed.co.uk/musical-theatre...ourse-overview

or there's Tom's alma mater.
http://gsauk.org/courses/undergradua...sical-theatre/

You get taught to dance and move at most top drama colleges - which means that now most actors will have been taught to dance, and move and tell a story doing it.

Who they felt danced best is shaped for many by who the judges told them danced best, or who was given a story and who wasn't. Thats why people just often replay arguments they have heard, like slogans, and tend to ignore arguments against them- repetition of a story works - ask Clinton or Cameron.

It's common knowledge that Len Goodman is Ore's Godfather.
There's bound to be favoritism

BiB: Absolutely, and you mentioned only ONE of many tricks used by Len (or producers in collusion with the judges) for this purpose.

FFS - I despair. Studying acting does not equal studying dance. If people accept that Ore has natural aptitude, why can the same not be said for Danny?
It was the same last year for Jay. Neither of them studied ballroom or latin dancing so even if they have a natural talent they still had to work damn hard to learn something which was totally new to them.

People didn't seem to understand this.

You don't know that for sure. How do know he did not have Private lessons during the Summer.
When Ore danced in Let's Dance for Comic Releif he said at the time that he had 2 months of intensive training but absolutely everyone has a selective memory regarding this!!

Training as part of the show or separately to the show?

Len's amazing. His hypnotic influence over voters is legendary. I could feel his eyes boring into me saying 'vote for Ore, vote for Ore!' It will be hard to find a replacement with the same level of influence.

What utter nonsense!
Please can someone from the conspiracist's camp explain to me why the producers would try and manipulate who won? What on earth would they gain from it?

Can I ask why Len is sticking the boot into Danny and not Louise and Danny?

Or is it just the OP wanted Danny to win, so takes praise of Ore as a slight on Danny?

I'm coming to the realization that Danny and Oti weren't popular. Even with the mistakes in his Quickstep, it was still a good dance, so were his other two.

I think that it was unnecessary for Len to highlight that Ore hasn't had prior dance training and to give him a standing ovation. We already know that. I think that Len made it clear who he wanted to win.
They were only popular on here, not enough votes to get them a win. And most people do like someone who starts with no experience who vastly improves to the extent that Ore did, not like Danny who had three years musical training and appeared in Les Mis and other musicals.

Danny and Oti were popular on other platforms as well.

I don't think that Ore improved that much. He was always pretty good.

Obviously Danny Mac has rubbed people up the wrong way behind the scenes.
Not so much behind the scenes but I think he lost votes the night he pushed Oti and others away because he had received criticism from the judges saying it was because 'he was in the zone' I felt he was showing his true colours here and everything else was good acting.

Of course the dannistas on here said it was because he was thinking of his dad, but that certainly wasn't the excuse he chose

I have not been wrong since 1993 when I made the wrong turn off a Motorway and have never been wrong since.
Pockets that line to use with an obnoxious editor who thinks she is always right... LOVE this.

I think Danny lost votes simply because his QS was disappointing this time and his showdance wasn't the style to appeal to voters. His samba was still great but by then lots of viewers had probably voted.

He and Oti probably could have done a simpler more appealing showdance and spent more time on polishing the QS. The QS being his opening dance was important as it could have fixed some viewers' mindset.

Len was complimentary to both dancers in different ways saying something like Danny being consistently the best performer. The judges gave him a good chance by choosing his stronger ballroom. They could have (and probably should have) chosen his weaker foxtrot.

If anyone was shafted it was Louise with a dreadful judges' choice. They should have chosen a ballroom for her but that would have been 3 ballroom dances to open.

It might not be new information to us but to a casual viewer watching for the first time it would be significant.

I see some posters are still pushing the Les Mis aspect of Danny's career! As he was only 9 at the time and Gavroche does no dancing, I fail to understand how that would make a difference.

As someone pointed out, Ore started pretty good. In fact I'm not convinced he hadn't been doing more than a bit of 'cramming' beforehand. If you are going to talk about 'journeys', I think Ed Balls was the one who nailed it.
In the later episodes they really seemed to ramp up the pointing out that Ore was an amateur. It got tiresome. As did Ore's 'me me me' outpourings. Then Len went and underlined it by saying that Ore was the 'spirit' of the show. Well they need to make up their minds. If 'journeys' are so important, then keep the show for amateurs only for heavens sake.
Having said all that I think Danny lost it big time. Maybe he was put off by his mistake but I felt his quickstep was laboured. I couldn't bear to watch and had to leave the room . It certainly wasn't the light, fleet of foot performance I was expecting.
Unfortunately for Danny, I think Ore performed better on the night.

I have always said that Strictly should be about celebs without prior dance experience,
so I am happy with Ore's win. For me jury is out there whether he learnt dancing or not, I thought his original AS and Jive were much sharper than the final and if the final was considered very good, then he was excellent from week 4??.

My problem with Len is that all these weeks he was happy to let go of potential dancers like Dausy and Laura, kept praising Danny and Louise and then suddenly
grows a conscience in the semifinal and says that Ore deserves to be in the final
more than the other 3, as they have had helpful previous training?. Be consistent.
