The boy from Pollock also claims that Zoë's time may be up too on IT2..Seemigly she wants to spend more time at home...Be a shame as she is a good presenter and she has nice legs too
A boy from Inversneckie Tweeted that Wee Krankie is in line for the job and that Lulu might be appointed First Minister.

Well I have been told that (again this is not official yet) but that Kelly Brook is in line to replace Claudia back stage and Claudia will move to front of house

I like Kelly and think she is a great presenter but not sure if she is suited to the backstage role or not?

Thought?
Kelly Brook!!!

How long did she last on that ITV morning programme - a week, month? She'd have to present holding a clipboard with 2 inch lettering.

Yes I agree I not 100% sure that she would be the right person either....Here a thought just my opinion and I have no inside knowledge on this but what about Natalie J Robb

She fits the profile and she is Scottish which would be good therefore on both counts

I might have supported that opinion at one time, but their brewery has moved and recipe has changed so much, Ruddles County is now dreadful.

I don't agree with the criticisms aimed at Tess. I think she's really lovely and genuine. If she "sticks to the script" as she has been criticised for, then that's her job. The main thing she does is introduce who is coming next, and briefly describes what their dance is, then after they dance, goes over to the judges and asks for their opinions. You can't really improvise that. But Claudia can because her job means that she goes into more in-depth conversation with the couples and can joke around with them. Tess's job doesn't really enable her to do that.

In any case, it's not unusual for shows to have a "straight man" to play against the funny one. This would be why it's Claudia that acts the fool, like with the holding the rope sketches she did this series.

2.The vibe in Scotland is that we have never had a Scottish presenter on SCD before and it should be our turn. I guess a bit like the World Cup where they are rotated every year .
Ronnie Corbett presented Strictly when Bruce was unwell, so there has been at least half a Scottish presenter

Lulu was considered allegedly but she is to busy with her pop career at them moment and would not be able to commit for a whole series.. I suspect if asked she could guest present now and again
hello Terry - we missed your sense of humour even if it wasn't intentional

God forbid that she ever comes anywhere near Strictly again, her appearance was a real low point of that series, and what pop career?

Brendan said that she was the worst celebrity that he ever had the misfortune to have as a partner.

Hilarious thread, it has made my day, and thank you lundavra, this made me howl with laughter!

I hope both Tess and Claudia will be back next year, but if not I can't see Kelly Brook even being considered and as trebanos says, when she was on the Big Breakfast she was sacked after only a few weeks because she couldn't read the autocue.

What about Judy Murray ...She is perhaps Scotland's most famous SCD contestant ever with Carol Smillie in the background....Kirsty Gallagher on IT2

Also be good If the Murray brother s could come when tennis permits to help out as well...Maybe to some dances from a tennis point of view
This has to be a wind up, Andy Murray can barely put a sentence together and is badly in need of charisma transplant.

1) This reads like a complete wind-up.

2) Tess said some years ago that if Brucie left, she would go with him. As she didn't leave when he did, I see no reason why she would now.

3) If either Tess or Claudia were to leave, Zoe would be the obvious choice to replace them, just like she stood in for Claudia for a few weeks when Claudia's daughter had the accident on Halloween 2014.

4) Other possibilities to be Claudia's "straight man" would be any of the other tv presenters who have competed on Strictly in the past. The powers that be seem to like to keep it in the family if they can.

Everyone now loves the Murrays...He is going to be knighted and with SPOTY for 3rd time...They are now classed as the UK;s second Royal family now
NO Terry, you may love the Murrays, the rest of us find them the perfect cure for insomnia, and since when did you change your name Tom?

There are parts when the presenter has to "stick to the script" because it is being used as a cue by someone in the Gallery.

^^^ This. Not to mention, there isn't time to go wandering off script. They can't run late, the next programme has to start on time.

And this is the man who partnered Fiona Phillips and ended up by grateful for a score of over 20 even if it was the lowest scoring foxtrot of its day and that record stood until series ten.

Now that Tess is set to quit SCD (allegedly) who do we think should replace her....In the past I felt it should be a Scottish person but does anyone else any ideas?
The alledged source should be fed to alligators. Still, a nice try for pre-Christmas sport.

Keep Claudia in her current role, bring a genuinely good presenter in like Graham Norton who would embrace the camp of it and has shown he can be good when he hosted the Joseph/Maria shows. He even managed to take over from Terry Wogan at Eurovision and made it way better.

Alternatively, I would love to see John Barrowman or Paul O'Grady - both of whom would take the piss out of it a bit, which is what Strictly needs sometimes. It's why Claudia works so well - she knows it's cheesetastic and a big joke, and she takes the mick out of things.
