Why Are You Not Allowed To Dislike The Cliftons
I would like to know why if you don't like the Clifton's you get the Third Degree on here. I am sure that everyone dislikes some people and I don't think anyone should say they hate the Clifton's but there fans should just respect that some people don't like them for one reason another. My only issue with them is there desperation need for attention but that is not a reason to hate them.

Largely because being British there are a lot of people who know them or their family and those people don't like it when people don't like those they know and maybe like.
I think I would stay away from a place like this if I were in the same situation, however they don't and any minute now on this thread will be a flood of posters saying " of course the Cliftons are hated" and how it's not fair. Whatever if that is the reason please employ many other foreign pros, it's so much easier. |

I have no problem with people not liking them as such but when they start quoting #FACTS to bolster their views that are not true it's annoying. It's also annoying when some say they are rubbish at choreography or this and that. Sure it may not be to their taste but they are employed due to their expertise and are not rubbish.
But the worst is the assumption of how they feel or that they are egomaniacs or whatever. I don't like Aj, this series at least, he irritates me with his stepford bot thing going on but he's a good dancer and probably under the plastic smile as nice as anyone. |

Nothing wrong with disliking them. There are pros I dislike, but I don't bleat on about it on every thread.
It just gets extremely boring when people get obsessed with slagging them off at every single opportunity, particularly when it gets personal and has nothing to do with their dancing, choreo or teaching. I also don't buy the bias arguments, so those get tedious to read too. |

I dont like them because they are shoved in your face by TPTB, how many times did we get Kevin from Grimbsy then Joanne burst on the scene and seemed to be on every ITT
and the banana thing is just getting stale now I dont know why but IMO and many others they are not the best pros, yes they have come up with some very good dances but they have also come up with some really naff ones All I can hope is that next year both Kevin and Joanne get duffers After four years its about time Kevin did |

"Why can't we criticise the Cliftons" is Strictly's equivalent to politics' "Why can't we criticise immigration" - a pretence that you can't discuss and be critical of those things when all around there's evidence that folk do very little else.

Grimsby is almost empty now. Tumbleweed. Shouldn't be allowed.

They inspire dislike in some people, there's something about them that rubs the people the wrong way, so much is clear. But don't expect everybody will agree with you, they managed to acquire some fans, too

Because the Clifton followers patrol the forum with precision and will cry with venom that all other fans are wrong and not being fair.
I love watching them at work and have many a good giggle at their posts. I am pleased Jo & Ore won as he really put his all into it last night

I dance but have never ever met a Clifton or had any form of contact. |

Another 'I hate Kevin and Jo' thread, just how many do we need?mit may try to hide itself by posting a pseudo sympathetic question.
So listen up you Kevin haters and Jo detractors, you've won I give the f**k up. I get it, you think Kevin and Jo are the spawn of some creature the devil himself is terrified of. You think it is your right to broadcast any fact, any snippet that confirms your obvious loathing of these two people. You spin any action, reaction or merest gesture by either of them as confirmation that they are not worthy to even draw breath with the rest of the human race. It is also your right, sorry your duty to point every single little error or perceived misdemeanour as often as possible. And if you think this is not getting enough attention then again it is your duty to start it off all over again. Well thank you, you've ruined an other wise enjoyable extension of the Strictly experience. And I shall retire from this forum now, whether return or not I shall have to think about it come Strictly 2017. I'd like to say it's been a pleasure but I'm afraid that option died a long time ago on this forum. So now you've won I hope you enjoy your petty snipes and abuse of those who dare to disagree with you. So long and thanks for all the fish. |

I don't know why we're allowed to dislike them. I've danced on and off for 10 years and I can tell you straight away Kevin and Joanne are two of the worst choreographers on the show (along with Giovanni) because it's all about them and they have a reliance on props or over-theming to hide bad dancing or to fill some time. I'm fairly certain there is a bias towards them because they get away with things that no other pro would, Karen seems to be the only one who gets marked fairly. Kevin has had 4 great dancers in a row whereas he should have had at least one duffer by now - that's fishy to me.
Also, they really do come off as stage school kids who just absolutely have to be the centre of attention at all times. When Ore won last night, Danny, Louise and Oti went straight over to Ore and were hugging him. Kevin? Swinging Joanne around, making the most insane noises like he'd just won the lottery, stealing all the limelight. Why? Because it's The Clifton show. |

I'm delighted Jo won. ![]() ![]() I'm also delighted Ore and Jo won. I would have loved to see Danny and Oti win, because I'm a huge fan of OtI. As long as Louise didn't win I don't mind. she was completely lacklustre in the final. IMO of course. |

Misleading thread title when you read the content of the OP. Should read "I don't think people should be allowed to disagree with me if I say I don't like the Cliftons".
Funny how some people, like here, start off moaning about being stopped from expressing a view but actually mean they don't like others expressing a view if it's different from theirs. |

It does seem to me to be a bit bizarre to dislike people purely because of their surname (I am sure that Karen never got as much stick when she was Hauer
). They are separate people with very different personalities - how can you 'dislike' them all
