Yes you can. If you do not have a carer you claim carers for help with payments towards things like a cleaner or a dog walker etc . its a set amount and you use it how you like.
Even if you do have a carer, you can claim rather than them claiming, then you pay them what you think out of what you get.

Two disabled people can and do claim carers for caring for each other as well.

That can only be claimed by people living on their own and no one claiming carers from them. anyway.

Or maybe that is the other extra benifit? There are so many things its a blooming minefield

yes, you can live alone and someone else have the carers allowance but you lose the premium, i`m saying that it`s not extra but instead of, in case anyone thought it was an extra on top.

Its defiantly a minefield out there. I was on one ESA for a year didn't know there were two types and I was on the wrong one and I was getting free prescriptions for a year without being entitled. I just ticked the box as always

It was only by joining a FB help group that I found out there were two types and can swap over to the other one ( to income based from contributions based) and not only that but that I was also entitled to SDP once I had swapped over I had never heard of it and no one from ESA or DLA or PIP is going to help you help yourself. you are on your own and if you have any learning difficulties or MHP you better find yourself someone to look over your claims and find out for you your best options.
