Corbyn's Christmas karaoke meltdown: Labour leader 'storms out' of party as rowdy MPs chant 'We want Tony' and video shows them singing Blair's 1997 election anthem 'Things Can Only Get Better'

Quote:
“Jeremy Corbyn walked out of a Christmas karaoke party for Labour MPs where they sang Tony Blair’s 1997 Election-winning anthem Things Can Only Get Better accompanied by chants of: ‘We Want Tony!’

The humiliated Opposition leader left as MPs insulted him at the noisy booze-up. They also sang The Beatles’ Back In The USSR – an attack on him for failing to take a tougher line over Russia’s bombing of Aleppo in Syria – and Madonna’s Like A Virgin, a dig at his ridiculed claim to have been forced to sit on the floor of a crowded Virgin train.
Dozens of Labour MPs joined arms to sing D-Ream’s Things Can Only Get Better”

Oh dear!!!!!

For all Corbyns faults he isn't a war criminal whose actions led to chaos, mass murder and ethnic cleansing.

the usual "it was reported, sources said, is said to have" etc etc, the mirror quoting a Mail 'report' (that bastion of truth and impartiality) no one is named it's all kept vague, and yet,.... there are as ever plenty who can't wait to believe it.

I am perfectly willing to believe it just as soon as someone who was there is prepared to step forward say they saw it and name some people who took part. until then, filed under 'fake news'

They were probably only teasing Jezza, the booze talking as it were.

Sounds like total BS to me. The Mail really is getting desperate.

Jess Philips, hardly a Corbyn fan, has tweeted "Can I just say as someone who was there, this did not happen"

Fake news again.

No he doesn't. He used the word, "friends" in a collective way when he was trying to negotiate a peace deal.

Nah, Angela Eagle says they always sing "Things can only get better" so that is true. Did Jess say which was untrue??

Why bother even responding to such stuff? perhaps arming Saudi Arabia and giving them assistance inthe carrying out of their war crimes is perfectly acceptable, and the use of a word is an outrage?

Are you sure this isn't a Daily Mash quote? It might as well be.

I wonder what the karaoke numbers were at Brussels after Mrs May had left the party the other night - Please release me, let me go... ? Klnees up Mrs May, knees up Mrs May, under the table you must go...? Wish me luck as you wave me goodbye...?

Jess Philip's tweet was exactly as quoted.

She is also one of Corbyn's most outspoken critics, which gives more weight to what she says than if it was John McDonnell for example,

has it been headline news on the BBC yet? not like them to miss an opportunity for an 'impartial' smirk.
