They did not allow Artem to win the second time and were against Aliona; however, Jay's unprecedented popularity and Aliona's insider's experience, as well as her husband's status, prevented them from manipulating the votes, no matter how hard they tried. This year it was a BBC employee AND a Clifton who were slated to win, and every shameful effort was put into it: turning a blind eye to Ore's stumbles and awarding him 10s while punishing the best dancer for non-existing mistakes; trying to pit Claudia's fans against Danny's supporters (it worked in the past with Matt's and Gethin's voters); bigging up Joanne and her plagiarized choreography, etc. etc. When nothing works, there is a last resort: "technical problems" conveniently orchestrated around the semifinal and the final time. I called this game a month ago noting that BBC was killing two birds (three birds, actually) with one throw: stop the racism accusations, reward their employee, and give a farewell gift to Len by awarding a Clifton with the 2016 Mirror Ball. The former SCD professionals predicted this outcome, too. Disgusting. The only consolation is the the head puppet master is retiring, and since I stopped watching DWTS some time ago I will never hear his sophomoric "jokes" again. |

He was in the bottom 2 twice. And they were different weeks to the final.

![]() Ore won because he pulled off the best performances of the night. I didn't see any mistakes by Ore personally, but a few FMs are screaming out there were, so with that, Danny made a few of mistakes in his first dance & one of them were too obvious to ignore. Plain and simple, Ore performed the best on the night & was voted by the majority of the viewing public as their Strictly Champion of 2016

Judges overlooking Ore's mistakes? What about Danny's mistakes in his perfect score Charleston?

& Danny was in the bottom two last week, does that mean the reason why he didn't win is because he wasn't popular ?

Total shameful scam. A slap in Oti's face. I am disgusted by this.

Ore was the best on the night and deserved to win. I voted for Ore and hadn't on previous weeks so I assume so did many others. The BBC can't afford to fix the vote. |

Just goes to show that the Strictly audience can be very fair and will vote for the best dancer on the night sometimes!

Whatever you've been drinking, I'll have two! I'm a Danny fan, I wanted him to win. But, he made mistakes on the night so I don't begrudge Ore his win. Any other theories you'd like to share? |

Please people, stop quoting this FM's truly risible pathetic rant - it was bad enough seeing it displayed once !
As someone else said, the internet is truly a scary place! |

Quite a few past winners were in the B2 at some point. What matters is how they perform in the final and Ore and Joanne hit the ground running and deservedly won.
It's the final public vote that counts not anything that went before it. |

I vote every week for the best dance on the night
I really thought I would be voting for Danny (given his ability and previous dances) But I voted for Ore..he was best imo...and I have never voted for him before. I would guess I am representative of thousands of viewers. |

Also people who had voted for Judge Rinder and Claudia in the past now had votes that could now go elsewhere. |

People's votes move as celebs get eliminated. It is entirely plausible that Ore would have picked up many of the votes as the other journey candidates were eliminated. Some people only watch and/or vote in the final.

The final is decided by former X-Factor viewers watching for the first time.
All the recent winners have been those celebs who appeal to 11-14 year old girls. Ore did Newsround for years so the younger viewers know who he is. |

Louise was the only finalist who had never been in the bottom two - would the OP have been happy for her to have won based on her performance last night? That is how it works, right? YOu land in the bottom 2 once and you're disqualified from winning? That's why no winners in the past have ever been in the danceoff? You know, except all those winners who have.
If Ore wasn't popular, he would've been gone - people can cry and yell and stomp their feet and whine about it being unfair all they want, but the public put him through last week - it would've been very easy for him to have still been in the DO despite being top of the leaderboard, esp with the tie on the scoreboard but he sailed through. Last night it was just the public and he won...get over it, when it counted, the public backed him. |

I'm a casual viewer these days and know little about the personalities this year I just watched the dancing.
Previously I assumed that Danny would win becasue he's a great dancer. However I thought that Ore did brilliantly in the final I even liked his showdance and I never like show dances even from my faves. So yeah I would have voted for Ore. |
