This. I really think that Danny was the slight favourite going in to the final. But mucking up his QS didn't help and then his showdance - which though amazing - was up against a straight Hollywood ballroom classic from Jo that Ore sold totally. I had 12 online votes from 2 accounts and gave Ore 8 and Danny 4. If Danny had hit the QS I might have thrown them 6 a piece. I seriously think the final was up for grabs and Ore just went for it with guns blazing!!
My wife and I just thought that whilst Danny was really great, he was a little cheesy, and for that reason, if nothing else, would have had our order as Louise > Ore > Danny.

Ore is not the first winner to be in the bottom 2 and then go on to win, he is the first to be in the bottom 2 twice that has won. The truth of the matter is that you only have to win by one vote to win overall and lots of factors are at play.

We know for a fact that Ore got more votes than Danny in the Semi Final. This to me, shows that perhaps the voting numbers were quite close every week.

More people vote in the final than at other points in the show.

I think that Oti got the showdance wrong, it was yet another wafty lyrical number with not as much wow as their American Smooth the week before. Its contemporary style isn't for everyone. Add to this that Joanne coreographed a straight up ballroom hollywood style showdance which not only suited Ore's strengths it was also more likely to appeal to the viewing public as ballroom dancing is at the heart of the show.

However the bottom line is the vote and on the night more people voted for Ore than Danny or Louise and thats why he won.
While agreeing with everything you say, I'd add that I couldn't help being reminded of Tom Chambers' show dance with Camilla when I saw Ore and Jo's routine - I never understood why nobody after that really cottoned on to the potential of that kind of piece, so I'm glad someone finally did (and proved why it works again!).

Although I had already cast my votes by then, for anyone undecided that showdance was breathtaking. It was the best showdance I have seen on Strictly and I type as someone who usually detests the liftathons. Ore and Jo 100% nailed it and danced magnificently imho.

Total shameful scam. A slap in Oti's face. I am disgusted by this.
They did not allow Artem to win the second time and were against Aliona; however, Jay's unprecedented popularity and Aliona's insider's experience, as well as her husband's status, prevented them from manipulating the votes, no matter how hard they tried.
This year it was a BBC employee AND a Clifton who were slated to win, and every shameful effort was put into it: turning a blind eye to Ore's stumbles and awarding him 10s while punishing the best dancer for non-existing mistakes; trying to pit Claudia's fans against Danny's supporters (it worked in the past with Matt's and Gethin's voters); bigging up Joanne and her plagiarized choreography, etc. etc.
When nothing works, there is a last resort: "technical problems" conveniently orchestrated around the semifinal and the final time.
I called this game a month ago noting that BBC was killing two birds (three birds, actually) with one throw: stop the racism accusations, reward their employee, and give a farewell gift to Len by awarding a Clifton with the 2016 Mirror Ball. The former SCD professionals predicted this outcome, too.
Disgusting. The only consolation is the the head puppet master is retiring, and since I stopped watching DWTS some time ago I will never hear his sophomoric "jokes" again.

You need to get out more.

Its a tv show chill out people, seriously.....

The final is decided by former X-Factor viewers watching for the first time.
All the recent winners have been those celebs who appeal to 11-14 year old girls.

Ore did Newsround for years so the younger viewers know who he is.
Not being disrespectful to Ore , but I hardly think 11-14,year olds would vote for him,

.
Actually I think the public would be a lot safer if some of them stayed in more!

3 times so was unpopular with the public, and then he wins hmmm.... I refuse to believe he topped the votes, it is a scam, release the voting figures so we can see the evidence
Do you not think that maybe as time went on he was picking up the votes of people who'd been knocked out?

I for one had been voting for Claudia in the previous couple of weeks but in the final I gave my votes to Ore... initially because I didn't want either Danny or Louise to win, but by the end of the evening I think Ore had actually outdanced the other two. A worthy winner.

The judges scoring average from the whole series is interesting.

Danny - 36.6
Louise - 35.9
Ore - 35.7

So it was heartwarming to see Ore defy the odds and win after those pesky biased judges were plotting against him.

Just kidding, but it makes a nice story skewing things to back up my own point of view.

Yes this is a factor too. I always liked Ore but if Claudia had made the final I would have been very torn as to who I wanted to win.

Get over yourselves he won because the GBP voted him the true winner. Someone who had never done performing arts and ended up a fabulous dancer. This is what SCD is all about so stop moaning and coming up with scam theories it's just sour grapes.

It's a dance competition not a modelling agency
