WIthout clicking on the link

Something unremarkable happened. Some irrelevant nobody attention seeker said something equally irrelevant on Twitter. Lazy tabloid made headline from it. Someone that posts on a forum was more than happy to link the story.

Was this the same time as when he was reported as throwing up during the Shipping Forecast?

It's taken The Sun a fortnight

http://forums.digitalspy.co.uk/showthread.php?t=2192404

I heard it live at the time.

The point though is it is ALWAYS Schaffernaker. Could you imagine this happening to any of the others?

Yes, one and the same incident. Already discussed to death in the radio section of DS.

Non story.

Surprised on the thread being created.

An example.

This week on the One Show, Matt Baker got a dry throat, he took some water, tried again, couldn't, and indicated to Alex to take over. The camera focused on Alex, Matt took more water and then was ok.

He was not hungover!

He could have had some stormy, rough weather to report and felt sea sick.

Tomasz attracts attention because people really like him. He comes across as someone with a wonderful personality, long may he continue to liven up the forecasts.

Some might like him but many of us don't.

He comes across as a nice down to earth bloke.
Better than some of the androids on tv nowadays.
He used to have an off the cuff chat with Janice Long on her midnight radio show when he was on night shift. I always enjoyed their conversations.
I can't see what people are moaning about. Then again, some people will comment on anything that isn't 'beige'.

Nope. After being taken off presenting the weather for some time for inappropriate behaviour, I had hoped that this individual might have grasped the concepts of maturity and taking his role seriously.

The majority of incidents (not this one) look like attention seeking to me.

It's not a none story to those simply wanting to know the Shipping Forecast to earn their living or keep them safe.

It is a non-story if the reasons for such an incident are innocent or understandable.

I do like his style of presentation. Most of the weather presenter and News readers for that matter are dull with no personality.

He takes a boring dry subject and adds a bit of life to it.

Agreed, just like the legendary Dan Corbett.

If this had been the only incident I would agree.

His previous antics, however, mean that he has drawn attention to himself and the press are probably looking for any inappropriate behaviour, be it innocent or otherwise.

His lack of care in what he does in his private life hasn't helped matters either.

He paid for "his previous antics" by being taken off-screen and into a backroom job for a few years. He served his time for any misdemeanours.

And it's not only the press who are probably looking for any inappropriate behaviour, be it innocent or otherwise. Seems to me that some on here are doing the same.

But mud sticks...

And yes, it won't be just the press thats looking out for any inappropriate behaviour. I suspect that it's probably because this is so unusual for someone in his position.

It was in reply to a statement

Not "a few people" or "some people" but a suggestion that all peope like him. I have no idea how many but I am sure a significant proportion do not like him as would apply to any wannabe celebrity.

As do most weather forecasters but they manage it without the gaffes he makes.

So weather presenter has to cut short a live broadcast due to a dicky tummy (or similar). At a time when dicky tummies could be the result of a hangover, or simply a stomach bug.

Maybe people have preferred to hear the glorious sound of a weather presenter vomiting on-air? Now that would have been a story to be reported upon and no doubt shared around.

Whichever it is, this is hardly a middling story, never mind a major one. It's the equivalent of a tiny ripple on a very large lake (where we don't even know what caused the ripple in the first place).
