^^This, I didn't really enjoy it, it was all too aggressive.
Not sure why Oti choreographed it like that. I found the AS in the semi far more appealing as it was toned down and melodical, I think she tries too hard and packs it with too much content making everything seem rushed and messy.

Tom and Camilla still the best show dance ever and Ore and Joanne's comes close i think.
Agree. I think a showdance for Danny and Oti more like their Charleston, AS or Cha Cha. I loved their Cha Cha to "Cake by the Ocean" with Danny doing his Michael Jackson moves.
Ore's showdance was the best on the night for me. Tom and Camilla's is the best ever.

Loved Ore & Joanne's showdance. It had real class about it.

Danny's was good if you like all that bash-n-dash sort of thing, but one thing Danny couldn't do was subtle, and dance should be about light and shade. But maybe that was just Oti's way of choreographing everything, because all Danny's dances were madly frantic, and had a tendency to look the same.

It was a good dance, but for me it was too brash. Ore and Joanne's routine showcased Ore's growth as a performer, personality and was also entertaining.

Plus it was too close in style to that brilliant Samba.

You saved me a post ! my thoughts exactly - too much similarity in Danny/Oti's two dances.

I think Jo pitched her showdance routine perfectly - she played to both Ore's strengths - he loves that old Hollywood style and to hers ballroom showdance at which she was a champion.

Must say though I enjoyed the whole final from the celebs returning to all three finalists and the beautiful pro tribute to Len - first final I have really enjoyed in a few years

I loved it too. They didn't play it safe so it was brilliant to watch. The music and choreography really matched.
best ever?? two words...tom chambers.
As for last night I though danny's was excellent, and edged it on the night because he didn't play safe. Ore was playing to his strengths...showmanship and stage 'presence'. It was like an extended version of his first dance.

Agree with all that. The pro dance for Len was exquisite; beautifully judged and performed.

Not when Caroline Flack's and Tom Chambers' exists
I rewatched Caroline and Tom's showdances a few days ago and thought they were great. Caroline's, in particular, was a beautiful heartfelt dance. As for last nights offerings they were all good but for different reasons. As someone mentioned upthread Ore's SD was an extended version of his AS. He brought confidence and showmanship to his performance and was comfortably in his element. It was very reminiscent of Frankie's SD which also featured a gorgeous ballroom frock, quickstep, and running/jumping on and off a prop.

Louise's was understated and danced well but unlike Caroline's lacked spark and connection.

Danny's was the standout. Oti's choreo was inspired incorporating paso, AT and contemporary to good effect. It was fast while still maintaining control and danced with total abandon. Nothing frantic about it, it was clean and the lifts were seamless. The vast majority of the viewing public know diddly-squat about technique, they like what appeals to them. Two years ago it was Caroline and this year it was Ore. We can only speculate why Danny didn't win or Louise for that matter, remember she was never in the dance-off. I doubt their runner-up status is down solely to 'misjudged' showdances. Most who believe this base their assumption on their preference for Ore and Joanne's SD.

I'm glad Oti is the fearless and daring choreographer that she is. D&O showdance was passionate, dramatic and meaningful. It's currently the Number 15 trend on Youtube. Clearly many people loved it. Just goes to show taking risks and stepping out of the ordinary more times than not leads to a lasting impactful impression.

Not the best show dance ever but certainly the best last night in my view.

I found Louise's and Ore's a bit boring but loved Danny's. I re-watched it a couple of times last night and have watched it again today

Tom & Camilla's showdance is still the best of all time for me, it was such an unexpected delight.

I was mesmerised by both Danny & Oti and Ore & Joanne's last night though, easily the 2nd and 3rd best showdances we've ever had in my opinion

I seem to be one of a very few, but my favourite show dance last night was louise and Kevin's. I thought it was beautiful.

Best ever, another one for Tom and Camilla's.

Natalie Gumede's was the best showdance ever.

All that contemporary airy-fairy wafting that Caroline and Pasha did doesn't excite me and I just found Tom Chambers annoying beyond words.
Natalie & Artem's dance was like a 1950s movie. You could have been watching Cyd Charise.
Most memorable showdance by a long way imo.

I liked Tom's, and since I also like Oti as a choreographer, these two together made me smile: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I1xauVkThQk
Happy holidays!

I agree. Joanne choreographed a great showdance that was reminiscent of the golden age of Hollywood. For me, Danny's dancing was too frenetic - as, in fact, was his Samba. I didn't enjoy either.

Best ever? Well, I thought so, but obviously not felt by most.

Reminded me of a showdance in the first SYTYCD final. Where professional dancers were competing...

Agreed....all that gurning and slapstick humour got boring very quickly. In fact, he was very one note as a dancer and shouldn't have won his series.

I loved Doti's show dance last night, and yes, for me, it's now my fave SD ever. Love different ideas, the snippets of other genres and the undoubted passion for dance.
Quite enjoyed Louise's, as a balance, and while Ore performed his dance brilliantly, it was too much like their AS for me.

I never enjoyed Tom + Camillas, did nothing for me .....

I'll sneak back into my corner shall i?

I have just watched Tom's showdance. IMO, it wasn't anything special, so Danny and Oti's showdance is the best out of the ones that I have seen.

I loved Danny and Oti's dances. Several of my circle supported both Danny and Ore but due to the constant Ore bashing we started giving all our votes to Ore. Ore and Danny were awesome!

I didn't watch the final but been catching up on some clips today .
I hated Danny's showdance .Really REALLY hated it .
Far too angry and frantic . I know it was well choreographed and danced , but even so it looked chaotic taken as a whole . Fireceness like that needs tempered with a bit of softness at some point , but it was just anger and attack from start to finish .
Such a shame as I adore Oti and find Danny Ok . But that dance ? Nope , didn't float my boat whatsoever .

Alesha's is my fav too

Tom's was ok but I can't even remember Caroline's

Ore's looked even better because Louise's and Danny's were uninspiring
