I was very disappointed that Danny didn't win, but I knew that he would get a West End Musical offer. Even I didn't expect it to be this soon though, he was on the BBC Breakfast show this morning talking about the musical version of Sleeping in Seattle.
He will be opening in Plymouth in April, and hopefully moving on to the West End later. His fiancée Carly will be his leading lady, and I think that this could be just the beginning of a great musical theatre career.

'Nother vote for touching the divine here.
Danny and Oti gave us a fantastic showdance, though for me the edge was taken off theirs and Ore's and Joanne's by the similar "look and feel" of their routines to their first numbers. |

Danny and Oti's was fantastic and exactly what a showdance should be. They actually told a story and didn't over-rely on props. Equally, there was lots of dance content and not just needless lifts.
Frankly, people who say it was too dramatic need to give their heads a wobble. Generic showdances are boring, quite frankly and whilst Ore's was good it wasn't even in the same league as Danny's. The only one thing that could have made it better was if the mirror had smashed all over the place at the end but health and safety and 7 years bad luck and all that perhaps not. These two have been the best pairing ever for me...I want a dvd of all their dances please Santa. Was it better than Tom and Camilla's? I have no idea as they were so different but I love them both.

Natalie Gumede's was the best showdance ever.
All that contemporary airy-fairy wafting that Caroline and Pasha did doesn't excite me and I just found Tom Chambers annoying beyond words. Natalie & Artem's dance was like a 1950s movie. You could have been watching Cyd Charise. Most memorable showdance by a long way imo. |

I agree. I'm not an Adele fan so wasn't sure if I'd like this but I loved their dance, so much content. And the mirror was used brilliantly without overtaking the dance, or being used to do less dance as props can be. The dramatic pushing over at the end with Oti jumping through was inspired. The fire and ice motif running through, with Oti gradually bringing Danny's personailty into the fire of hers until at the end there was no mirror between them, they were together, mirrored their strictly journey.... of Oti gradually bringing out Danny's natural reserve and fire. Yes I loved it.

I absolutely loved Danny & Oti's showdance, for me it was the dance of the series. It was everything a showdance should be for me. Dramatic, heartfelt, different, clean, brilliantly danced and acted. Truly showed off what he has learnt and displayed their partnership.
Louise and Kevin's was a bit of a let down, but full of good intent. I liked Ore and Joanne 's but it was Tom & Camilla lite version, and was just a continuation of his AS IMO, so didn't challenge him or show off what else he had learnt. But it was clever of Jo as it covered up his many weaknesses. I'll rewatch Danny & Oti''s a lot in the future, won't be inclined to do that with any of the others, |

Agree with this post.. Not sure if it was better than Tom and Camilla's completely different type of dance but I LOVED IT!
Best ever goes to Tom Chambers (NOT the judges favourite, apparently)

I didn't watch the first series and only watched Jill and Darren jive. This made me watch more. The only show dance I remember is Louis Smith and his partner. It was showstopping. Was that the one that killed dvo?

Ore and Dannys showdances were both fantastic, but Ores had the edge.
The best one is still Tom Chambers though. |

Am i the only person to HATE Louis show dance. Him just prancing about in a leotard. I just rewatched it thinking maybe my memory had blurred my feelings of it, but no, its still terrible and boring.

The best one is still Tom Chambers though. I can't see it as great on any real level - exciting and showy I suppose. The quality of Danny's dancing just didn't measure up to Ore's. |

Nah, I hated it an' all. Pile of tricks.

I honestly don't get that Danny's SD was 'great'. It was overcooked, messy, frantic and not well danced. Some parts were actually ugly, Danny seemed to be running around trying to keep up, and the 'story' was angsty teenage pants.

I was "just a little bit" of a Doti fan this season (!) and supported them from Day One - however, I did not really feel their Showdance which was a real real pity.
Like others have said, it was a bit too "angry & frentic". Oti, in my opinion, should have celebrted Danny's joy of dancing. I agree, the music was very intense and maybe not lent to such a celebration (a la Ore's) but I feel he still should have produced something a little less intense. Talking Of Ore & Jo, they were my 2nd favourite coupling this year but I have to give them the top position as far as the Showdances were concerned. Wow, I was seriously impressed. Jo's magnificent choreography played to everyone of Ore's strengths and he did not fail to deliver on any level. Wonderful, wonderful routine. Yes, it was like an extension of their AS but, i'm with Jo - why fix what DEFINITELY is not broken. Good call Jo.!!! Louise and Kevin's comes in last for me. It just lacked any "wow" factor and got completely lost between the other two.. big wsted opportunity by Kevin there. Finally, the Showdance to end ALL showdances was, and still is, Tom & Camilla's - end of! EDIT: And yes, Louis very overrated Showdance was all about him being topless - which did sweet FA for me... |

I like the routines that Danny and Oti had on Saturday. The Quickstep was a joyful and glam routine. Then we had the showdance which was very dramatic and told a story. Finally, they ended with a fun Samba where they let loose. We got to see how versatile Danny is.

I didn't really like it. As others have said a bit to angsty and frenetic.
However I wasn't a massive fan of Jo and Ore's (don't like lots of facial acting in a dance) or Kevin and Louise's. I'd rank them 1: Ore 2: Danny 3: Louise Wish Claudia had been in the final. |
