See I think the screenshot looks awfully similar to Nicola Stephenson, who funnily enough joked back in June about joining Eastenders on Twitter. But surely she wouldn't be playing Michelle? They look nothing alike and Nicola is Northern (I think)!
Looks like it's Jenna Russell, she started follow Annette Badland the same time Eastenders were filming the Christmas episodes.
I don't think it's either of them going by that photo. Nicola Stephensons a northerner isn't she? Can she pull off a London accent?

I'd love it if Jenna Russell was in EastEnders, I think she'd be an awesome addition.

That's not right because if the actress is not Nicola Stapleton or Jenna Russell then I will be right

She doesn't need to, she needs to pull of an American one. Especially as Michelle won't have the far-fetched "excuse" of having studied in a US-based "British" school.

From the pics one of the poster on WW post it looks like her, would SOC really pull this off?!

Michelle wasn't brought up in America like Mark Jr was.

I can see the resemblance I just don't think it's her

It's like "Cora" at the window all over again

No but having spent nigh-on half her life over there, she's quite feasibly picked up some degree of an accent or twang. Not that EE will worry about such things.

Not necessarily. My grandads friend is Scottish, he moved to the West Midlands over 50 years ago and still has a thick Scottish accent.

They are not going to give Nuchelle a fake American accent.

Which is why I said "feasible", followed by EE not worrying about such things.

Even my initial comment wasn't a serious one. Sorry you assumed it was.

😂 🤣 It was a good lookalike.

I think it's the nose and side profile that shows some resemble the actress in question.

Bringing back Michelle is a very risky decision but in the long-term, it will be the right decision, in my opinion. Home and Away reintroduced an original iconic character in 2010 (recast Roo) and the character is still in the show and many fans enjoy Georgie Parker's version of Roo.

There can be lots of new storylines for Michelle and she has her brother, best friend, auntie and cousin living in Walford.

in the new extended trailer here

http://metro.co.uk/2016/12/19/easten...s-day-6333469/

they show what looks like the scene before (Stacey and Martin find the Turkey gift) so no clues in that trailer

Interesting.

I don't normally buy into these but with the mentions of Michelle and the picture I'd be surprised if that wasn't a recasted Michelle. The cardy seems a big nod to Pauline who was famous for her cardys - let's not forget Carol had a meltdown after someone said to her about her cardy wearing reminded them of Pauline.

Over on Walford Web, someone's pointed out that Jenna Russell was in an episode of the Minder revival a few years back... which was produced by SOC

EE do seem to have a history relating to Fowlers with and without accents wasn't it Vicki who turned up with a rather fake American accent that she seemed to lose within a few months or so of being in the square.

Yes. You'd think that they'd be able to find actors who can do accents. It's part of what acting is, after all... but all too often these days, it just seems to boil down to playing yourself. Pam St. Clement didn't use her normal accent for Pat.

It's definitely Jenna Russell. I remember her in Born & Bred. I hope they have signed her up long-term. This is very promising, I hope they pull it off.

Jenna was also spotted entering Elstree with a folder under her arm saying Meshell Growler. The Sherlocks among you may be able to decipher who she's supposedly playing.

She was fab in born and bred. Her character was very feisty, for want of a better word. I think she would be good in EE, for some reason i think she should be connected to Max but not necessarily as a romantic interest.

I think they have the same facial features so looks wise it's spot on for recast.

I'm glad SOC is doing something bold, whether or not people agree with recasting Michelle Fowler.
