5, Disappointed no follow up IT Takes 2 Show..... massive hype and build up over the series and then no interview with the winners or runners up and no analysis of the final dances

1. Can't disagree that Ore deserved to win based on his performance on the night.
2. The final was weaker for Louise being there instead of Claudia 3. Pros dance for Len was great. 4. Danny could have performed any of Ore or Louise's dances as well, if not better than them but I doubt that Ore or Louise could have performed the show dance or samba anywhere near as good as Danny. 5. Hope that some of the Strictly excesses are are pared back for next year - less props, less additional dancers and please, better music choices. Happy Christmas to one and all! |

1. Would have been better with 4 in the final and an elimination. Then I wouldn't have had to put up with Louise's clunky show dance, possibly.
2. I thought Danny would win, but he was outclassed by Ore on the night. 3. Didn't realise it was Gene Kelly's 3rd wife who he was married to for just the last 6 years of his life, in the audience. Thought Annie Lennox had turned up. 4. I'm not happy to see the back of Len, especially if the worst judge Darcy Bussell takes over as head. 5. Merry Christmas everyone, let's hope for some real megastars next year. Such as the Chuckle Brothers. |

1. The best dancer on the night won and the best of the personalities remaining in the DO.
2. Really nice to see Ed and Rob back. I wish one had been in the final - not to win but to inject some energy. 3. Loved Katya and Gio dancing together. Love Katya anyway. 4. A nice farewell for Len and interesting to see the warmth between Craig and Len. 5. Too much filler in an overly long show.

I don't mean to state the obvious but it's winking at me... She was there. It's a proper thing. The past doesn't disappear somehow.
Going on to blether now. I know someone (who knows someone ) who was good friends with Primo Levi, a writer and a human being I admire beyond reason. But the closeness of the past is staggering through those casual human connections. The touchability of the lives of people who are gone... I'm not a cynic about these things. There's a life in them that carries forward |

1. Ore was best on the night and deserved to win. Joanne has had a outstanding series.
2. Danny was best across the whole series. Mistakes happen, he went on to do two stunning dances and can be proud of himself. He and & Oti have been a brilliant partnership and she's been a revelation. 3. Louise seems a bit subdued all night, she was never in the contest. She & Kevin just never seemed to be as strong a partnership as the other two. 4. How brilliant to see three proper showdances full of dancing rather than just lifts. All the dresses were stunning, and it was great that they were all so different, even if I only liked two of them! 5. What a wonderful tribute to Len - how lovely to see basic Waltz danced so beautifully ![]() Cheeky 6: I thought the opening pro number and returning celebs group dances were a bit lacklustre, but the quality of the finalists more than made up for that! |

1. Thrilled THRILLED with Ore, fantastic performances.
2. Adored the Len tribute stuff, and cried at the dancing ![]() 3.Enjoyed Danny's Samba. 4. Pleased for Louise that she enjoyed it so much and did such a good AT. 5. Hugely surprised and tearily pleased that the best dancer in the final actually WON. |

Louise drew the short straw with the Judges' choice - would have thought her AS to Big Spender might have been fairer, very un-Kevin like showdance was actually pretty good and the AT was also good.
Danny on the other had got a good Judges' choice, just a pity he couldn't absolutely nail it - and their showdance was amazing as was the second go at the Samba - that will be one of 'those dances' which everyone remembers. Ore was best on the night - helped by again a good Judges' choice and that astonishing Showdance - say what you like about Joanne, but she knows how to choreograph a show-stopper. Jive was brilliant again. I'm going miss Len in spite of him being a miserable old curmedgeon occasionally - and the Pro dance to May Each Day of Your Week had me in tears. Merry Christmas everyone - and see you in September! |

1. Very disappontred Danny didn't win. Oti was incredible too
2. Never saw in Ore what everybody else saw, apart from his AS I found him just well, ok 3. Can't stand Len and won't miss him but that tribute actually had me emotional. The tribute dance was phenomenal. 4. I wish Darcy would go with him. 5. 'Fraid Louise was always very meh for me. |

1. Put £10 each way on Ore after the group dance at the Kick-off show, came out better than my £10 E/W on Kelly last year
2. The tribute dance for Len was reminiscent of Come Dancing from the 1970s - a lovely resonance 3. I loved the Busby Berkeley feel of Ore and Jo's show dance. So glad we've moved on from the "thrown your partner in the air" school. 4. The antics in the Clauditorium were less grating than sometimes. 5. Loved Cloud's floor-exercise tumble in the group dance: probably better there than in a show dance. |

1)Congrats to Ore and Joanne! The last couple of weeks he really upped his game.
2)Exhilarating showdance from Danny and Oti, shame about the quickstep. 3)Louise didn't have a good final.Argetine Tango wasn't improved, hated her Cha Cha first time round and same again in this time and the showdance just consisted of her being lifted and looking very exposed when on her own. 4)The show opener was just a bit over the top and cheesy. 5)Fitting tribute to Len.That pro routine was simply stunning and will live long in the memory. |

I know this is the five thoughts thread, but could I just ask a question about something as it is mentioned above, and it isn't worth starting a new thread over. Pardon my ignorance, but what is Bacofoil referring to? I've seen it mentioned a few times, but completely missed what it means?
![]() The original version was available but the amendments add a certain je ne sais quoi and in my opinion improve it immeasurably. |

Happy with the winner.
Band were superb. Still don't like Tess. Lovely tribute to Len. Detested the interviews with the losing finalists. What the **** were they supposed to say? |

1. Thought Danny's showdance was the best I'd seen since Natalie Gumede. Outstanding choreography from Oti.
2. Felt very emotional during Len's tribute, he'll be missed. 3. Gutted about the result. I really wanted to like Ore, but I just couldn't, he's intensely annoying. His jive was just ok and showdance predictable. 4. Loved the group dance and wish Rob or Ed had made the final. The group dance made me realise how much the show had missed them. 5. Still fuming now nearly 48 hours later! Worst result ever and I REALLY didn't like Tom Chambers, but Ore pips even him. |

1) Really going to miss Len, was a wonderful tribute to him. He was visibly moved.
2) Danny's Samba was even better the second time. 3) The final itself whizzed by, didn't drag at all. 4) Louise was by far the weakest, she just seemed so awkward (although I did really like her AT). 5) Now what can I watch on a Saturday night?! |

1. So happy with Ore and Joanne winning - 3 routines danced superbly.
2. Disappointed that Danny mucked up the QS as you could see the judges wanted to give him 40 for it. 3. Loved the Len tribute dance - gorgeous 4. Happy to see all the eliminated celebs having their 'moment' 5. Wished we had Claudia in the final instead of Louise - who really was a let down. |

1. It was Danny's to lose and unfortunately for him he did
2. Danny and Oti's show dance was easier to admire than to enjoy 3. Ore did 3 consistently great dances 4. Louise remained beige throughout 5. Please don't bring any ex-pros in to replace Len |

1, Pleased for Joanne, although the Beeb couldn't make their bias towards Ore any more obvious
2, Series as a whole was a bit of a damp squid, no real personality left at the end unless you count an over emotional man child. 3, Supposedly, fat blokes who can't dance are more entertaining and enthusiastic that fat women who do the same 4, Farewell Len 5, Look forward to next year |

1) ore was the clear winner on the night, 3 great performances of 3 excellent dances, fantastic panache and stage presence
2) louise got the short straw having to reprise that dreadful flash dance routine, but she looks fab with curls 3) i liked louise's showdance, especially that she seemed to be laughing most of the way through it 4) i didn't like danny's and despite being probably the best dancer overall he really paled into insignificance next to ore on the night 5) 5 thoughts is my favourite thread on the board. |

Despite Danny's mistakes in the Quickstep, I still preferred his performances more than the other twos. His showdance was dramatic and performed well. I was so glad that I enjoyed Danny and Oti's Samba as much as the first time.
