Forget about bends, congestion, first world problems with roads in Europe. Those type of roads are in a different league.

For me.

The B3306 in terms of difficulty. However, there are plenty of lanes in Devon and Cornwall which are challenging over shorter stretches.

Not helped by the 'locals' removing or turning signs in the deepest darkest places (yes Cornwall, you know who you are and it's not funny.......... (it is).......)

Virtually all the motorway network south of Manchester is like that. Variable speed areas policed by cameras are really frustrating, particularly 40mph sections when the traffic is light.

When you say 'the' Freeway, do you mean a particular one?
There must be 10 or more in The Sunshine State, of varying lengths, the ones I've mostly used are the I-4, I-10, I-75, I-95, and I-275, mostly the I-75.
I've never noticed it as bad as you seem to have, if you encounter a stretch that has not long been re-surfaced, you'll get a slightly louder drumming noise until you clear that stretch, but in my estimation, not so severe that you think you have a puncture.

All the approaches to Hanger Lane. When you finally make your way on to the Hanger Lane gyratory - it's a free for all.

The Isle of Dogs when Limehouse Link is closed. Or the Rotherhithe Tunnel. Overnight maintenance works. I hate that sign! I have sat in gridlocked traffic trying to get away from the Isle of Dogs at 2am before.

A road in Portugal. Most roads there are quite good. This road was a busy main road but only half of it existed. The right carriageway had been stripped completely for repair and was just rubble and pot holes. Impossible to drive on. There were no traffic lights. It was busy. So I had to make my way on the left side of the road against the direction of oncoming traffic, pulling over into the rubble when necessary. It went on like this for about 10 miles.

Driving in Montana last year, we'd chosen to visit Glacier National Park vie the West to East route and had stayed late to get some great Sunset pictures

Made the mistake of not pre-booking that night's stay, we don't usually book because there's plenty of places.

So coming out of the park East Glacier Park village was totally booked so we had to go further when you get to Browning (everywhere booked) and now dark you have a choice of routes, one due East takes you to Shelby a largeish town, the other meanders SE through loads of tiny towns

We made the mistake of going East because half way along the 58 miles the barstewards had dug up the road for about 15 miles right down to the bedrock there so we had to drive through this rutted track in the dark. How we didn't buckle a wheel remains a mystery

Thankfully it was a hire car

Eventually got to Shelby and the verdammt place was fully booked too so had to go another 10 miles South down the I15 to Conrad

I think it's that thunk-thunk-thunk noise as you hit the edge of each piece of Asphalt, I've traveled enough US highways to know the noise but for a first-times I can see why you'd think you had a flat

why does Limehouse link shut so much, for three nights consistently, they must lose a fortune on catching speeding cars on the cameras?

Knightsbridge for the last month, the busiest shopping time of the year, so TFL decided to shut south carriage drive, one lane Eastbound and one lane westbound of Knightsbridge, and also another lane at Scotch corner, all at the same time, traffic back halfway up at Kensington Road and Hyde Park corner completely mullered

Serpentine Road in Cleckheaton.
Shocking stretch of road that's constantly being dug up and then re-laid and smoothed with a kitchen spatula I reckon.

That's a question I often ponder. It's not as if it's really old like the Rotherhithe tunnel. As you say those cameras in the Limehouse Link are probably not earning their money. It's very tempting to nudge over 30mph in there as the lanes are so wide and forward visibility is good. . Feels like you are really going slowly.

Coming out of Rotherhithe Tunnel one day a few years back, north to south, the northbound lane camera flashed.
I glanced to the right, then in my o/s door mirror, nothing, no cars, vans, zero.
I naturally assumed that it was picking up me, as I was doing nearer 30 than the posted 20, but I never heard a thing, nor received a letter, go figure.

Republic of Srpska, big potholes and even bigger lumps of rock, took a wrong turn over a rickety wooden bridge 😳

Most non motorways in Mexico, which all seems to feature absolutely lethal speed bumps called 'topes', which seem designed to destroy a car's suspension.

The A40 into and out of London. I have never driven down it without being sat in traffic.

\Anywhere in Edinburgh must surely be up there. Even the potholes have potholes. It is an utter disgrace and embarassment. I suspect that many third world countries have better road surfaces.

I agree, I do quite a bit of driving in the highlands and drive carefully at sensible speeds but try to avoid too much at night because my car doesn't fancy meeting a bull on a bend at any sort of speed.

M6 south of Tebay. A1M south of Gateshead. M62 anywhere.

Have never used the M25 - I respect my car (and my sanity) too much

It's a toss up for me for the first two that sprung to mind.

*The Road to Hana (as it is billed) in Maui. For the most part, it's a dirt road w/ rocks & huge boulders which we'd endured for 8-10 hours, in a jeep, w/ a driver who fancied himself a cowboy. I still refer to it as "The Road to Hanoi."

*The road from primarily from the M 40 to Fingest and (especially from there) to Turville. It was so narrow that we had to back up and drive off the road whenever an oncoming car appeared to make room for both of us! Much as I love those towns, I'd need a helicopter to live there.

Honorable mention: sea side cliff road from Sorrento to Positano. So many hair-pin turns that the driver's rosary was swinging from his rear-view mirror like it had its own personality; wanted to grab it down & start praying on it.

Driving round most Northern US Cities in Spring following a particularly harsh winter. They have such horrendous pot-holes due to the salt, the snow ploughs and vehicles with snow chains

I hit a nasty one on Western Avenue in Chicago that buckled the wheel of the hire car

You have my sympathy. Western Avenue is just the worst, not to mention the antithesis of cultural abundance, unless you're doing a study in gang life. . Poor you! Consider yourself lucky to be alive.

Maybe it had no film in it.

Not many do 20 through the Rotherhithe Tunnel. If you do stick to it you generally get someone up your backside. Most only slow down for the camera you mention.

It must be a nightmare right now with Tower Bridge being closed. Luckily I don't need to use it this side of January. A few years back Tower Bridge was shut and the detour was the Rotherhithe Tunnel. It took so long to get through it. I entered in broad daylight. When I finally got out the other side it was pitch dark.
