Why I voted Ore
For me Ore was the best last night, simple as. I actually had no intention of voting, I never vote on these things. Although I always had a preference for Ore's dancing I just accepted Danny was the best dancer and would easily win. However last night Ore was brilliant and I decided that my one little vote could make a difference and he and Joanne deserved it.
Happily lots of others obviously felt the same and for all of us I think the best dancer ON THE NIGHT won. |

Like you, I had no intention of voting, but it was the showdance that did it for me. I waited until I saw the other two to be fair, but then I gave them my votes. The reason is simple (and perhaps wrong in the grand scheme of things) - that showdance made me feel happy and excited, the way Torvill and Dean's routines used to do. When the dance matches the music so brilliantly, does something classic as well as something different, it gives you the same feeling as a child waiting for Santa. That is what you want from a showdance, and so rarely get, and it epitomised the best of strictly for me. So yes, perhaps I voted for the wrong reason - for the dance not the person - but he nailed it on the night and it was special, and I would have felt gutted if he didn't win after that.

I am so pleased Ore won, he was my favourite, but I have to say I also loved the other two and if any of the final three had won, I'd have said, "Well done", to them all.
It has been such a great show this year, with lovely contestants. I'm going to miss it so much! |

It was a fab final but, I voted for Ore because of that wonderful "feel good" routine to SITR. I think that dance set the bar for the rest of the night and carried us all on a wonderful evening of dancing. Last night's final is the best one we've had for years. All three finalists had a shot at the glitterball but, only Ore gave me "magic". Yes, Louise and Danny were great but, for me only Ore gave me that wonderful feeling you get when you know you're watching something truly special and SITR was that "something" special and was quite simply the routine of the night imho.

I think they were the rightlful winners for one pure and simple reason - they danced the best on the night. Which is the way a final should be imo.
Their American Smooth was lovely and their Jive was phenomenal. Then their show dance was just delightful. I was really apprehensive about it when hearing the concept with Ore dancing about on platforms, and I'm not normally a fan of show dances 'with a mix of everything.'but Joanne choreographed it in such a way that each piece was just special on it's own but still flowed nicely into the next. She also managed to make it unique and show Ore's ability off without making it a lift-athon. All in all it just all worked out for them on the night. They were completely in sync and didn't put a foot wrong. Their reactions to winning are probably one of the best ever too. The way Kevin was so happy for Jo and Danny was so happy for Ore and they were both so shell shocked but grateful. Really lovely. |
