Because he's having a right go at his own country and cosying up to a foreign nation. It doesn't seem like something a President Elect should be doing four weeks before his inauguration.

There isn't really a set of ideals in which a President elect becomes President, this transition period is always a mixture, with the old (or current President) being in charge still, but having zero real power to implement anything, and the future President, really just wanting to get on with the job asap.

When you throw someone like Trump into the mix, who just loves to talk, especially on Twitter, then obviously things will be different from what people classify as "the norm".

It will be interesting to see if he transfers to using the official Presidential twitter handle/account, or if he will keep his personal account, as no doubt that he will still be using that platform, I think we can all agree on that.

Here's a couple of things Obama has done during his final weeks:

"The political press is trading in its historical role as antagonistic investigators for the retweet button, letting Trump himself dictate what news is covered (and what isn’t) and how, without any follow-up questions. Trump has essentially reduced political reporters on Twitter to play-by-play commentators who narrate his every tweet."

https://mediamatters.org/blog/2016/1...delines/214871

We see this laziness often enough in the tabloid press, of course.

Too often, a story describing "outraged" response or "fury" is just a few pissed-off random people on Twitter.

Just as well the one with ZERO power is attending daily security meetings etc. - the President in waiting seems to be swanning around shooting from the hip and playing Billy Big Boll**X without a care in the world. If he were paying a bit more attention to his security briefings he just might learn something - namely 'don't go shooting your mouth off until you have a full understanding of what's going on in the world'.

He's a prize idiot and megalomaniac who needs reigning in for his own good and the good of the country.

Hopefully in a way that puts them beyond the reach of Republican morons.

The US is to expel 35 Russian diplomats, and shut down two Russian compounds, in response to "harassment" of Americans in Moscow.

The diplomats affected work at the Russian embassy in Washington and the country's consulate in San Francisco

In other news

Senator John McCain has questioned whether Donald Trump's nominee to be Secretary of State is too closely linked to Russia.

Looks like it's going to be a very low key inauguration with organisers still struggling to find any musicians to perform: http://www.rollingstone.com/politics...ration-w457677

Ah, but the tweeter-in-chief has secured the services of the Mormon tabernacle choir. It should be a blast.

Was hoping to avoid posting another Jimmy Dore video but a quick search brought nothing up.

John Kerry "problem is young people don't want to die in another country"

And people claim this lot are liberal? Neo cons to the core.

Still find it hard to process Donald Trump will be the next US president. Perhaps I'll wake up on January 20th and find out some other guy is president! Yes, this is just the most vivid dream I'm having and I'll wake up and none of this stuff actually happened.

Wow - this is one heck of a real feeling dream, though. I'm even dreaming I'm typing on Digital Spy right now!

I wonder if the first thing Comrade Trump does when he gets into office is to make it compulsory for all American school children to learn Russian?!

Nope, this is not a dream, this reality.

Obama is yesterday's news, and is a total irrelevance now, Trump is the future.

Not really that depressing, as I am the type of person to wait to judge how someone will do in a job before writing them off before they have it, so it isn't that depressing to me at the very least.

so are you incapable of making a judgement based on character, temperament, previous behaviour, his alleged policies, his cabinet picks and the people he surrounds himself with ?

if thats the case and all you are capable of doing is waiting for events happening then whats the point even talking to you ?

What are you suggesting? Should America start war with Russia who is a nuclear super power? Even without the use of nukes, war with Russia would be a disaster. America overspent money and resources on waging wars in the past decades, and now they are running out of money because the wars did not go as planned and they are losing on all fronts. In Iraq, it did not go as planned. The country became more volatile and the government can't seem to be able to keep things under control.

In Afghanistan, America is losing against the Taliban and they failed to defeat them. They have made them go under the radar in some parts of the country, but in most of Afghanistan they are still strong and nothing can be decided without them.

In Syria, it is obvious that the so called moderate opposition backed by the West is losing the war and they don't have enough money and people to keep the war going. The moderate opposition being the islamists who want to turn Syria from secular to Islamic state similar to that of Saudi Arabia. They are backed by the West but also by Turkey and Saudi Arabia.

In Ukraine the West caused the turmoil hoping they would be able to draw Ukraine closer to the EU and to NATO. Russia would never allow NATO to expand military presence too close to their borders so they had created a Russian-controlled buffer zone in East Ukraine. Another blow to America there.

As we can see, waging wars around the world costs money and America is not that rich anymore. Globalisation has enabled developing countries to rise and develop their economies whereas Western countries had to bear the burden of globalisation for decades and see their economies shrink as most business moved where they could get cheaper labour and less strict laws.

Now America is making a U turn and slowing down. America will make peace with Russia temporarily and try to curb globalisation and strenghten the economy. Remember people, Donald Trump is just the executor. All this had been agreed upon long before Trump was elected president. That was the final step.

Bit harsh, yes he has plenty of character flaws, and it is of course a concern that he hasn't truly separated himself from all of his business interests just yet, but I am willing to give him a chance to be a successful President.

If he turns out to be rubbish, then of course I will say so at the time.

Do things point towards him being successful, probably not, but until such a time, then why not give him a chance to prove all of the critics wrong?

I think it's a bit tragic to be honest that some people are acting like the election of a man on record as saying he wants to make it harder for women to get abortions, has once called for a ban on people entering the country because of their religion and has a VP who has previously introduced measures to legalise shock 'treatment' for homosexuality and diverted funding away from AIDS to pay for it, as some kind of jolly laugh.

Maybe when the first woman dies through having to get a back alley abortion in a conservative state once Roe v Wade is overturned we can take this dangerous imbecile seriously and stop taking it as some kind of puerile game of 'ho ho ho, what a jolly time this will be'.

Probably because we're talking about people who actually agree with these things, as abhorrent as they are.

This is Digitalspy after all.
