You think during his briefing he sat there cross-armed, frowning, learning forward occasionally to say: "Wrong!"?

Alternating that with "You're fired!"

I'm sure the people who voted for him will be happy about that.

"Donald Trump will be the most disliked president in modern US history. According to polls since Election Day, Trump’s favourability is the lowest since Gallup polls began on that topic in 1992.

Clinton, Bush (another president who won the electoral but not the popular vote) and Obama were viewed favourably by at least 58% of America. Trump rated 42%.

Gallup also revealed in December that less than half of Americans were confident that Trump could handle ‘several duties’ – including handling an international crisis, using military force wisely or preventing major scandals in his administration. At least 70% of Americans were confident in Barack Obama, George W. Bush and Bill Clinton in those three areas before they took office."

What a liar.”

I don't think Trump's a liar as such - he just didn't think any of these plans through, promising this and that.

Won't Congress have to agree to build the wall?

They'll forgive him and still blame Mexico.

No, they don't have to do anything.

looks like Trump is now accepting that there was Russian involvement in hacking during the election campaign but just denying it impacted the result

not really surprising from someone who said he would have won the popular vote if he wanted to and/or it hadn't been for all the millions of illegal votes ...

Yeah it's gonna be hilarious to see all the people denying it happened now switch to saying it didn't matter. haha

impossible really to prove either way whether it had any impact as thats just down to subjective opinions

that it did happen and the intent existed is hard to argue against now, altho i expect to see the usual suspects try

He didn't think anything through because he didn't think that he'd actually win.

And will he admit he misjudged/was wrong? - will he apologise for attempting to ridicule the security services? (personally I think he just made himself look ridiculous).

Not a great start to his presidency and ................I think it'll go from bad to worse!

nice to see on the news that the democrats dont seem to realise they lost the election...
i really think its not good for the losers to bleat on about losing and blaming this and that.
just admit they ran a poor campaign and move on.

So there was no DIRECT dodginess in the election and the intelligence services are worthy of the utmost respect. Glad to see the incoming POTUS has the balls to stick to his guns. That's the kind of strong leader America needs.

by sticking to his guns i assume you mean that after weeks of calling the intelligence services liars and denying any russian involvement that he now accepts he was wrong but refuses to accept it made any difference, something that cant be proven either way

yep he is really a man of principles ...

No - he is a liar. Comparisons of lies told during the campaign and by far the largest number were told by Trump.

http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-me...p-truth-o-met/

Also on that link Trump has a lower score telling the truth

Yep - they will. This is what I thought might happen - he made a lot of promises and I seriously doubt he will be able to achieve many of them.

Also there are mid term elections in two years - so if he does not then there is a chance the Republicans could lose one of the two houses - making it harder for him.

Damn, I thought it was fairly obvious I was taking the piss...

...hmm. In today's world I should probably remember that there are people out there who WOULD say that in all seriousness. Which is alarming.

Mind you, I would have thought the "sticks to his guns" thing when talking about two things on which he's made DRASTIC U-turns should have been enough to divine satirical intent...

The latest security services report published today says nothing new and nothing specific; full of "we assess this" and "we assess that". A large part of the report is about broadcasts by RT which have nothing to do with any alleged hacking.

Am I being a bit thick in wondering how he was planning to get Mexico to pay for the wall? Why did people actually believe that and how could he possibly have made that happen?

Why did people believe that? Because people will believe any old shit if it's what they want to hear.

How could he possibly have made that happen? Not at all.
