I have purchased some items from a auction house in Nottingham (x3 coffee makers and a soundbar with sub) I would like to use a courier to collect these and deliver to me in Suffolk, the auction house will package the items for free, any sujestions the cheaper the better .

Prob best google it - i think sites like parcel2go will give a selection of firms and their prices. You will be able to check what level of insurance (in case of breakages) too.

Why isn't the auction house organizing the Courier?

Don't use Parcel-to-go. They are unscrupulous and rubbish.

How so?

Parcel2Go aren't couriers in their own right - they simply provide a portal to most of the major courier firms (including the highly efficient DPD and UPS) at prices more advantageous than are available to the public if booked direct.

Customer service and after-sales support is appalling with Parcel2Go.

I used them a few times without issue, then I had an issue with a courier cross-labelling two parcels that were collected at the same time and delivered them to the wrong addresses, over 300 miles apart.

The courier obviously wouldn't talk to me directly as they were engaged by P2G and I had no relationship with them.

P2G were almost impossible to get hold of and were not at all interested in trying to rectify the problem. After several days of failed promises to sort things out I had to engage another courier myself to collect the parcels and deliver them to the correct addresses and I then had a huge fight with P2G to get my money back.

I tend to use Interpacel these days. Not the cheapest in every case, but they're run by people who actually care about the quality of service provided.

Fair enough - there are always exceptions I suppose, but in 99.9% of cases there will be no need to contact the "middleman" so customer service won't be an issue.

In your case, the real fault clearly lay at the door of the courier of course, but I can understand your frustration at being unable to resolve it.

I've used both Parcel2Go and Interparcel on numerous occasions over the years and had no issue with either of them. They offer essentially the same service.
