Christmas albums.
I know you can only play them a few weeks a year but I love them. Which are your faves then? I have lots on CD but my fave still has to be Jim Reeves 12 Songs Of Christmas. At only 31 minutes it's not very long but 12 gems in there. The Merry Christmas Polka! My parents had the vinyl LP and played it to death when I was a kid so I bought the cd a few years ago.
Also love Phil Spector's Christmas album and the more recent Buble and Rod Stewart ones. I have a compilation released in '92 called It's Christmas which has tracks that you never see on albums now. For obvious reasons, Gary Glitter's Another Rock 'N' Roll Chrstmas but also Queen's Thank God It's Christmas and Kate Bush's December Will Be Magic Again are criminally overlooked.

Christmas with Love by Leona Lewis is my favourite (although I do have a soft spot for the Phil Spector album - as does every shopping centre!).

The one I'm playing most at the moment is Kelly Clarkson's Wrapped In Red.
Annie Lennox's Christmas album is also good, different but good. |

I don't own many but I love Boney M's Christmas Party and a French one called Petit Papa Noel I bought in a hypermarket over there once. I also loved Girls Aloud's bonus Christmas EP/mini-album which came with their Chemistry album.

Not an actual one but this would be on Sir MT's personalised christmas album.
Side 1 Il Dulci Jubilo - Mike Oldfield Faiytale in NY - The Pogues + Kirsty Mc Lonely This Christmas - Mud 2000 Miles - The Pretenders Merry Christmas Everybody - Slade Happy Xmas - John Lennon Do They Know It's Christmas - Band Aid Christmas Time - The Darkness Sleigh Ride - The Ronettes Santa Claus Is Coming To Town - The Crystals Stop The Cavalry - Jona Lewie I Believe In Father Christmas - Greg Lake When A Child Is Born - Johnny Mathis I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus - The Ronettes Side 2 Santa Baby - Eartha Kitt Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas - Frank Sinatra Mary's Boy Child - Harry Bellafonte The First Noel - Frank Sinatra Hark The Herald Angels Sing - Frank Sinatra It's The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year - Andy Williams Oh Come All Ye Faithful - Nat King Cole Walking In The Air - Aled Jones Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow - Dean Martin The Twelve Days Of Christmas - ??????? Just wondering if I've missed anything obvious. No sign of Cliff, Elton, Mariah or worst of all East 17. I'm sure some people might dispute the versions I've chosen. I quite like the Boss's SCICTT but I still think the Crystals is better. Does anyone know a good version of the twelve days of christmas? |

Beach Boys Ultimate Christmas (which combines their 1964 Christmas album with their unreleased Christmas album from 1977)
A Christmas Gift For You from Phil Spector. And my own mix, which I cherry picked from compilations and downloads....and have put on 3 cd's....meaning I get to listen to all my favourite Christmas songs new and old including a few traditionals without listening to the very few that I do dslike.. It's quite eclectic. |

I only discovered the Carpenters' Christmas Album this year
For more traditional Xmas Stuff I found on Spotify "The Greatest Christmas Choral Classics" which seems to be the City of Prague Philharmonic and the Crouch End Festival Chorus |

My niece is here with her family for Christmas and she has been playing Justin Bieber's under the mistletoe since 7am and its surprisingly quite good. Some strong original songs are on it.
