Anyone remember this back in the late 80s and early 90s? I don't recall many of my friends managing to bag any jobs via Oracle but it was very innovative + informative at the time. Certainly beats queuing at the job centre and applying for scam jobs.

In the early 90s I used to start work at 4am so would be up around quarter to 3!

In the days before 24 hour news channels,I remember watching it in the pitch dark, shivering away listening to that awful music hoping to find a better job!!!

great idea. You could record on VHS then watch at your leisure with a cuppa and take notes.

Look into smooth jazz, that's the genre of music normally played on the likes of Jobfinder and Pages from Ceefax.

To be fair if you're unemployed and up at that time it would more likely be crack open another can and get on the CB radio!

I think I may have a few of the CDs actually used in the Central TV broadcasts.

I brought about 500 production music CDs that used to be in the music library at Central (Carlton) Studios at Broad Street in Birmingham.

I personally prefered the music that was used on Yorkshire TVs Jobfinder

When I was a kid I quite often used to fall asleep with the TV on and wake up at about 4am to find Jobfinder was on!

Ah.. how i miss the pre-internet world


They should play this kind of music down at the Jobcenter to make finding a job a less daunting experience.
