Why do they feel the need to hold this in massive arenas with a live audience of half a million? is it for the ticket money?

I have not watched this for years ... WTF. Talk about OTT.

Nick Skelton is the only worthy winner. He has gone through so much in the last few years.

I agree with everything you say. I don't like sport anyway and all this fawning over sports people is so boring.

I much prefered it when they held it in a bog-standard studio years ago.... it seemed more personal then

Its not really a review anymore as the BBC hardly have any sport to show fully.

Mainly consists of interviews/VTs with the contenders which could probably be done anytime anywhere.

Andy Murray isn't there (busy training) but will win again anyway.

Is Chris Froome there? Ask anyone involved in cycling, what's greater. Winning The Tour de France or an Olympic gold in keirin and I'll bet the reply is, the one that wasn't shown by the BBC.

There really isn't just one man or women sports personality of the year they are all sports personalities as some turn into reality celebrities, dance or end up eating things in a jingle..

What a load of old cobblers. If I was a gold medal winner the last person i'd make an effort to see is Betty Battenburg.

Who told that woman to wear that dress...?!!

Nick Skelton to win please. Told to retire when he broke his neck, so close to gold before on more than one occasion. 2nd oldest person ever to win a gold medal for UK.

Andy's already had it twice. He's done amazing and is a worthy nominee. But would love to see Nick win.

Well acknowledging a volunteer who has given his life to bringing hundreds of kids through his boxing gym is hardly fawning.

How can you generalise 'sport' anyway? To compare football to snooker to marathon running to Equestrian to UFC to everything within the Olympics seems ludicrous.

It's like saying I don't like books or food.

Andy is training in Florida and he should win. Most of the others at the Olympics retired after competing, Andy however kept competing and got to No1 in the world. He has lost four matches since May and won nine tournaments.

How much harm would it have done for some to come to Manchester?

Last I heard that lottery tickets are purchased up here....you know....the lottery that keeps some in their Miami or Dubai training

.

For the record, tennis doesn't get any lottery funding for the Olympics

But as all the debate discussed when he was not shortlisted.
He's Kenyan not British.
All the history with drug taking the public don't respect road cycling unlike track cycling as in the Olympics.
