If it's true then congratulations to them and I wish them success in the future.

They were definitely the most marketable act in the finals and they can fill the boyband shaped hole left by ID splitting up, despite being a very different sort of act.

I think they'll do ok

Thank goodness. If handled right, they could be BIG.

They must have money to waste as they are never going to be successful.

What evidence suggests that? They were in the top 4 of the voting every week - top 2 five of the ten weeks, even topping the vote once. They clearly have the fan base. It all comes down to how they're handled by Syco.

Well obviously Si was going to sign them - he needs a boy band and there is a gap in market for a urban dance pop act! They will do well I reckon they have the makings to be real decent pop stars so long as Kieran sings most of the lead

This just shows that Simon really has it against people that can actually sing on these shows.

However on a positive note good luck to 5AM as they do seem like nice guys.

They sure have potential, also the videos could be great with their dancing - but they need to be careful not to autotune it too much with these guys.

It's nice to see the love (aside from the odd turd in the hamper) coming out for 5AM. Hoping they release some great music.

So a group who quite blatantly can't sing have reportedly been given a recording contract. If they'd spent the last few months showing us how they'd design a clothing line made from cheap fabric and stitched in third world sweatshops, would people be lining up to express their support for that, too?

Why so mad?

They may not be powerhouses but they can still sing.

He should sign Marcel Marceau if he wanted a mime artist

What in my post gave you the impression that I was at all "mad'? I just find it odd that people are so ready to endorse an impending product they know from the outset will be shoddy and wholly insincere.

No, they really can't.

Not surprising they had the most commercial appeal and potential out of all the acts in the Final 12 good luck to them.

No chance! The 1d fans aren't going to fangirl over these guys the same way they did teenage Harry and Zayn.

Did I say that? I realise you feel the need to shoehorn your obsession with obsessive s into every post regardless of relevance but thankfully the vast majority of the public are not swivel eyed loons and just like the music they like. Normal kids will probably love 5am and they'll had a short but profitable career.

They could be successful in the UK but I doubt they will reach One Direction's levels of success, especially in Europe.

The Autotune manufacturers will be raising a glass tonight - more sales for that gadget!

I agree with you Blondie and I think thats what Cowell is aiming for anyway .hes more likely to take them down the JLS route than 1D.with the right songwriters ,material and promotion i think and hope they can do well.some very sour grapes on here.I personally wish them all the success for the future.

I don't think Syco will use either JLS or 1D as a template for 5AM - they're a different kind of group. I'm interested to see what they'll cook up in the studio.

There a dance group Aswell as vocals so I reckon they will do dance pop music like drake and or Chris brown / Jason derulo - they could do really well if they get the music right!
