Oh dear, Courtney, you might not think Jessica is an expert in branding if you had seen her appalling website

£3 for a slice of cake is ludicrous, even in London.

Alana's consistency won her the 250k, not her business (plan)”

£3 is not OTT in the Current Market I can assure you.

So how is Alana expecting to produce enough products and deliver them daily to 100s of shops around the country? Isn't she currently only selling to "captive" buyers at festivals and the like, with a lot less potential competition.

His trophy beakers already exist with other companies, that's the problem with the knock-off tat market, he's always got to be one step ahead with the trends. Then there's the potential for lawsuits if people deem his stuff breaches copyright.

She can employ people to make her cakes for her.

But they wouldn't be fresh, so ordering them now isn't a good idea. If anyone want a cake then why not go out and buy them, really easy to do, as even petrol station sells cakes and buns, and other stuff. Ordering cakes online is a load of crap!

Yes, I'm so glad she won for many reasons, but one of them is definitely a two fingers up to those candidates who completely wrote her off the first half of the run and kept sidelining her in the tasks. Who was it who kept forgetting her name lol?

I haven't read back too far in this thread so sorry if it's been covered but I really couldn't see what was so wonderful about Courtney's baby bottle? It looked horrible and not a word about the materials it was made from being safe for babies etc etc ... if someone had bought that for one of my kids when they were young it would have been in the nearest bin as soon as they were out the door! I think it was supposed to be more of a toddler sippy cup? But because Courtney kept using the word 'baby' it made it unclear.

Thanks for the responses ^

Interesting, I thought £2 was roughly the going rate and I live in an expensive part of the country.

I wouldn't pay £2 let alone £3 no matter how nice a pithy slice of cake tasted. I am more out of touch than I thought

She might just have one large kitchen in one of those workshop units on an industrial estate. Cheap to rent and cheap labour abounds these days.

I keep seeing people say that £3 per slice is too expensive, but at least in London, it really isn't. Go to Borough Market, go to Selfridges foodhall, go to all the bijou bakeries and delis, the food festivals and pop-up events - £3 is about right, probably even on the cheaper side! The cupcakes and slices at places like Lola's, Hummingbird Bakery, Primrose Bakery etc cost around £3-4 each.

Even on Ocado you get cakes costing upwards of £10 a £10 for a cheesecake, £18 for an xmas pudding and so on.

It may seem expensive, but people really do pay this. There is definitely a market.
