Really? Many of these cakes sold in corner shops, petrol stations and some coffee shops are not exactly fresh. I was in a Hospital Coffee shop run by Costa a few days ago and was most surprised to see that some of their packaged cakes and brownies had a sell-by date of sept 2017. On-line cakes are freshly made and tend to be more unusual or individual.

Alana proves what it's been said re ordering online that it costs more to do that than go out and buy the stuff yourself! If you went out to the shops you could get a better deal.

Why would they not be fresh? Just because you order the goods now doesn't mean they'll be baked now and then left for a week before being shipped. The bakes will be baked on the day and then shipped out the same day. Also given they are traybakes rather than cakes they'll last a little bit longer before going stale.

Obviously the mail order cakes on Alana's website are not for the impulse buy or the "I need a cake now" market. They're for people who are willing to wait for a higher quality product.

I'm really not sure what your problem with Alana is. She produces a high quality luxury food product which by all accounts is pretty delicious. It may not be the lowest in calories, but I'd hazard a guess they've got fewer chemicals and crap in than even some supposedly "healthy" foods.

Quite right. Cakes are made and dispatched within 24 hours. Online cakes are also ideal for people ordering for a party, wedding , etc - any time you want to buy in quantity

Alana, and no other cake or sweet manufacturer in the World, would expect people to eat all their products in one go.

But they aren't stale either! Online cakes can't be fresh, even if they are baked there and then, as delivery of them could take longer than a day, unless she has vans waiting for each bake to finish!
There are bakeries who make fresh items where people are to buy them. I know cause I've seen them. Supermarkets bake them on the day, and if any cake is still on their shelves they're taken away. Alana can't do that can she!
