Are exfoliating micro beads in face scrubs still a danger ? It recently came in the press regarding the dangers to skin, is it still the case ?

I thought they were supposed to be dangerous to fish, but if fish need moisturisers I'd be very surprised, what with the sea levels rising.

You've got the power to search the web for all the research and answers on this, yet you still have to ask the question? O.........M.........G

Do some reading and educate yourself a bit.

I don't use any exfoliators with beads in it. Not sure if they can be considered 'dangerous' but I think they could potentially aggravate my skin so I don't use them. I only use smooth exfoliators now.

Not at all. These things are easy to find out about. Some people seem to display ignorance with pride.

Environmental concerns are more important than cosmetics. Anyone who thinks otherwise should think more deeply, if they can.

yes they are still a danger to the environment. There are other options available that don't have the plastic microbeads.

They are an environmental disaster, so you should consider using other options.

People are being very rude to the OP.

To answer the question, yes they are dangerous and I thought they had been banned. You should try to buy scrubs etc with salt or nut based 'scrubby bits' in them.

What exactly do you find ridiculous in the suggestion that someone become more informed on a topic? You'd prefer they continue in ignorance, perhaps? Enlighten us.

They are indeed a threat to marine organisms and they will be banned in due course but in the meantime it's better to use sustainable alternatives such as those that you have outlined.
