For those who are interested Danny will be on BBC Breakfast this morning...

Also they manage to grab hold an small interview with Ore at SPOTY last night.
Sounds like Ore is taking it easy for the next month or so, after the Xmas holidays with the family Ore and Portia are going on vacation.

Sounds like Danny is to be in a stage adaptation of Sleepless in Seattle.

I don't understand what you mean! He can act, has a good singing voice and now has had some intensive dance training.

I have looked it up and see that Danny is (if he is in it) is following Jay's footsteps - a musical of a Tom Hanks film, opening in Plymouth, then Dublin, followed by a West End run.

Where does the previous poster say it is a musical?
I didn't hear everything - just caught it passing through with the toast
But taking a film and turning it into a stage musical - if that's what's happening - worked well enough for Legally Blonde.

Most films can be adapted for stage. I'm glad that Danny has work lined up already.

I'm glad to hear he's already getting work. I'd never heard of Danny before the show but he's very talented, as well as being incredibly likeable, and deserves a lot of success post-Strictly.

There's a rumour that they've cast a real life couple to star in it (Kimberley Walsh and Tom Ellis workshopped it in the spring) and have had to delay premiere a week due to needing more rehearsal time. So I wonder if it might be Danny and Carley set to star with the delay being due to Danny doing the tour?

It's good isn't it. I always like to see the Stridtly celebs do well, whether I supported them or not, after it's finished because I think the better a cast list does, the more likely it is it will attract a good cast the next year.

only reason why I was confused, it just seems a strange choice of film to turn into a musical.

Whatever he appears in I am sure that he will be a sell out.

I had never heard of him before this series, and never go to the theatre these days, but I will make an exception for Danny.

Maybe his management organized it before the final, regardless of whether he won or not. It's a smart move to get Danny in front of people while everyone is still talking about Strictly.

They said that Sleepless in Seattle opens at The Theatre Royal, in April. I looked online, and it seems that it will be opening in Plymouth before hopefully coming to London, and his fiancée is going to be his leading lady.

Singing and perhaps some dancing, accompanied by an orchestra?

Danny said the musical was loosely based on the film so I am guessing it will be adapted

I think Sleepless in Seattle should make a great musical. The original soundtrack had some great standards in it but I expect they'll write new music for the show which should be interesting (http://www.allmusic.com/album/sleepl...e-mw0000098218).

(When Harry met Sally has better music in its soundtrack for ballroom dancers, including It Had to be You and I Could Write a Book which are great foxtrots.)

It's great news that Danny has this opportunity and that he'll be able to spend some time working with his fiancée. I'm really pleased for him as he has a very engaging personality and is a lovely dancer.
