I'm pleased for him too and as a previous poster said, it's good news when Strictly contestants go on to do well in musical theatre, presenting or whatever because it will encourage others to sign up.

Danny looked totally exhausted on BBC Breakfast this morning, but he came across really well, a total gent.

I wonder if they expected to be interviewing the winner.
No, I don't think so. Ore would never have been available for interview today as he was at SPOTY in Birmingham last night and Breakfast is filmed in Salford. Plus Jo is working on Thoroughly Modern Millie.

Danny talked about the musical as much as Strictly, so it seemed pre-arranged.

I'm not sure about that as Sally Nugent managed to get there from SPOTY. I'm sure they normally interview the winner so it's just a happy coincidence that he had 'Sleepless' to talk about.

Sally interviewed Ore on the SPOTY red carpet, though and the interview was played every half an hour.

Maybe his management organized it before the final, regardless of whether he won or not. It's a smart move to get Danny in front of people while everyone is still talking about Strictly.
It's definitely not something that would have been arranged overnight. I'm sure there were auditions, callbacks etc, and his previous experience with stage musicals would have stood to him, but a showcase like Strictly won't have hurt his prospects. Good luck to him using Strictly as a stepping stone in his career. It's a shrewd move to heighten his profile from more than "that guy off Hollyoaks" and he's flourished under Oti's tutelage too.

I hope Danny gets plenty of work off the back of his appearance on SCD. He has shown he has bags of talent, a strong work ethic, and an engaging personality, so the future looks good for him, I'm sure.

That's great - I'm happy for him and I love Sleepless in Seattle so I hope the musical version will be a massive success. I know he'll do brilliantly.

I really hope this crop of celebs get all sorts of success this year - they were all so likeable and talented and deserve it.

Reading about this there was a US musical version in 2013. At this stage it's not confirmed if the same people behind that version will be involved with the UK version.

Well done Danny. Next I would like to see him in something back on our TV screens.

Sounds like Danny is to be in a stage adaptation of Sleepless in Seattle.
He has done very well, it was a nice interview.

I've never had much time for the standard of acting in Hollyoaks, but having seen Bronagh Waugh (Chez) in the Fall, maybe it's a case of only being able to work with what you're given. He's a bit pretty, so character peices mightn't be coming his way yet, but with any luck, he'll find a good gig for himself.

Very pleased for Danny, he sounds excited about the new project and I'm intrigued to see how they manage to turn Sleepless in Seattle into a musical!

Maybe she skipped the after-party then

Well This Morning is filmed in London, so that probably explains a lot!

I'm sure Ore will talk a lot about Strictly on Breakfast tomorrow!

Good for him .🙌
I must admit his previous stage experience kind of put me off wanting him to win , but he seems a truly nice guy, worked his socks off on Strictly , and deserves any success coming his way .He's young enough to forge a good career in musicals and dance and should grab it all with both hands while he has the spotlight .
