Classic example of why you should never name your group based on the number of members in the band....even Beyonce was savvy enough to not put a number in the name of her "revolving door" group.

Camila is the Cheryl of the band. They even look similar. Not the strongest vocalists, but the most striking and charismatic, the most pushy and the most media savvy. I'm not at all sure that the rest of 5H will stay together or sign another contract. Lauren is doing solo work too.As for people saying Simon should make them do this or that, he has no say, their contract with him has lapsed.

They're all doing solo work, which is baffling to me. Normani just released a solo cover song I think, as you said Lauren did a collaboration outside of the group too recently but it's not really doing much and Ally's mum confirmed Ally is working on a solo album too. Their statement even said they will be moving forward as a four piece and doing solo endeavours. I'm like why not just take a break and do your solo stuff and come back? It seems like everyone is pretty much doing their own thing anyway.

You're right he wouldn't

But do think that Simon should move them from la Reid label to Columbia Records who look after little mix
Why would he move them to Columbia? They have been totally useless with Little Mix, Syco are their main label and Columbia are only involved in the US release of their work, which they have been doing a terrible job at.

Epic have brought Fifth Harmony much more success in the US than Little Mix have had with Columbia.

I have to agree. I wouldn't say I disliked Camilla, but I never understood their team's obsession with having her vocals all over their songs whether it be actual lines or ad libs. It wasn't like she was a Beyonce or Nadine in the vocals department. The reaction online has been fairly positive to her leaving (as in people saying the group can continue without her) so fingers crossed.
I think the group will be just fine without Camilla.... Camilla's solo career though - I just don't see it.

I can't see why 5H can't stay together and pursue solo projects. It's very common in KPop and can actually make the group more popular, as people get to know the individual members and then support the band when they reunite.

I'm glad she's gone. I think the group will be better without her. Her voice might be distinctive but it's bloody irritating. Lauren is a much better singer than her, Ally's range is miles bigger than hers and Dinah has the most interesting voice out of the lot of them. Why Camilla was ever pushed to the forefront I don't understand as to me she's the least interesting. As for her having a solo career, I just don't see it happening. Also, after reading the statements that the girls released and also reading Camilla's, the girls ones make much more sense and seems more honest. I don't believe what Camilla said in hers, in fact it doesn't explain things really at all, whereas the girls one is clear.

If it wasn't for Shawn Mendes, most folk would be "Camilla who?"

She was pushed forward at the start because she was far and away the best looking - tiny and slim. The others were all overweight by pop standards although since then they've all got thinner. Arguably Camila is still the prettiest though and pretty is power in pop.

http://www.billboard.com/articles/co...ny-exit-inside

And was Cabello replaceable (an idea to launch a search for a new singer via a reality show was discussed and shot down) or is it wiser for Fifth Harmony as a brand to move forward with four?

If people are correct in thinking this article was being fed by the Camila camp, it still doesnt make her look good.

The idea of a "hiatus” was offered by the Cabello camp, but the other members of Fifth Harmony would not agree to waiting out her solo career. The iron was hot now.

In fact, Fifth Harmony's label, Epic Records, has been planning a Cabello solo album for the better part of a year

It sounds like the group's own label was masterminding all of this.

Anyone seen this? Camilla was way out in terms of share of vocal across both albums.
Love if they could do the same assessment for LM.

I was actually surprised there wasn't more of a gap between her and the other girls. There are so many unnecessary Camilla ad-libs on some of their songs. I'm glad they pointed out that just because she was given the most lines it doesn't mean she's the best vocalist.

Pretty much spot on, Camila was pushed as the Cheryl of the group e.g the prettiest and the one who got the most media attention. The only problem for Camila is that Fifth Harmony haven't had the same level of success in their country as Girls Aloud did here, and Camila isn't a judge/have a role in a huge TV juggernaut. I think she's made a mistake by leaving the group this early.

Camilla has left, ally unfollowed the group and Lauren was caught on audio saying they are treated like slaves. The management is shady as hell, this group is over.

I think nomani could be the dark horse, she's gorgeous, good singer and by far the best dancer. Camilla was the star but a lot people don't hate her

I've been saying this about them from the start. I've always felt sorry for them. Five girls who individually auditioned to be solo popstars, contractually obliged to instead work together with four other girls each who they'd never met before, and pretend to be best-of-friends at all times. All while releasing music video after music video which has them doing basically soft porn, all of which is then on the air in the wider world forever, un-deletable.

Offered money to build a better life for their families, and not told any of the details of what they'd be doing for it in advance. Seriously shady, I've always thought. Camilla, now leaving (after what, 2, 3 years with the band?), is only 19! That's very young to be dealing with this kind of pressure and shady record label bosses who just see you as meat to be put in short skirts to sell records.

I missed the part where they were forced at gunpoint to be part of a group. They all voluntarily grabbed that lifeline to get ahead, same as LM and 1D. It just didnt work out in their case.

Now, the label being devious setting up C to go solo, I agree with.
