I've mentioned enough times that the BBC use Strictly as an opportunity to expose selected people who they think have potential, to a wider audience, to hopefully increase the ratings of any present or future shows in which they appear.
Does anyone actually believe that the BBC haven't got Ore tied up tightly contract-wise? He's going nowhere. 'Raise Sussanna Reid's profile- and with a bit of luck ITV will offer her a contract.' Worked a treat in her case- although I'm sure they want to keep Ore. |

The fact that Ore chose to appear on This Morning today rather than Breakfast suggests that the BBC don't have him tied down as tightly as some would think

He won't disappear, he will always get some kind of presenting work. He would be crazy not to cash in presently whilst he is so current, this type of high profile will not come again.

I agree. SCD has raised his profile. He is a presentable, well spoken young man who will go place. I am pleased for him.

What's not to like? I hope he makes the most of every opportunity that comes his way.

There is a lot of difference in being a Sports Presenter and a Dancer, Ore is only on third, or second at best, level sport programmes.
How is winning Strictly going to make him better. He is not a big name in the business, we are not talking Gary Lineker here. Sky Sports have recently made a few top Sports Presenters redundant and there is rumoured to be a few more to go, so I don't see why they (or anyone else) would want him. |

I prefer Ortis the sports presenter "The athletes are limbering up for their far-eastern experience..."

Suzanna Reid blows that theory right out of the water...
You confuse " The BBC" with the producers of " SCD" who actually choose the celebrities appearing, and note many if the line up is from the world of sport, and say soaps not on the BBC, pop music stars, even some ITV shows, however ITV have attempted a ban. Mentioning it many times, does make it correct, and like Suzanna Reid why would the BBC, expose select people, for them to hot foot to ITV Breakfast. ![]() Suzanna Reid may not have been exclusively contracted to the BBC. She had a much higher profile than Ore. Ore was "a little fish." Not the same thing. He was reported to have signed a new contract in June. Then he was invited to do Strictly. So he'll be staying. I wish I had a pound for every time you admitted to being confused. |

It depends on their contract in the first place. You don't know what that was, so don't pretend that you do. Louise Rainbow would have had to ask permission to invite a presenter already under contract to another department. She can't do just what she pleases.

He lives in Manchester so I can sort of see why he didn't want to travel straight back last night after SPOTY. |

Sky Sports could be another broadcaster potentially after his services. Don't blame him if he decides to cash in on his new found fame and popularity, we'd all do it.

Danny's agent had him booked on Breakfast at least a week ago. Pretty smart move really to get them to commit to having him on a day after the final, even though he didn't win. I think Ore's win was genuinely unexpected because there were furious phone calls yesterday as to who got Ore's first interview. Ore didn't want to travel up to Manchester anyway for Breakfast because he did SPOTY last night and would've been knackered. He's gone up this evening from what I know and he's on Breakfast tomorrow.

Ore Oduba 'sparks £500,000 bidding war between BBC and ITV' after Strictly Come Dancing victory
Bosses are reportedly worried that the BBC Breakfast sports reporter will move to rival ITV http://www.mirror.co.uk/tv/tv-news/o...idding-9482969 If true, then why would BBC been pushing for an Ore win like some have claimed ![]() Anyway he's no real loss to them as she wasn't. So he goes to Sky...I'm not gonna do what he does all the time and weep

SPOTY was in Birmingham, which is only 1 hour 45 mins away from Manchester. But he travelled all the way to London today for This Morning's interview
![]() Mind you at least HE WAS at SPOTY....which is more than can be said for multi-bore Andy whiner winner Murray.

didn't he do a self 'publicity' spot for This morning last week too? didn't do him any harm did it.

I kinda love that in a room full of amazing sportstars, he was getting a lot of attention. https://twitter.com/KarthiSport/stat...04452936581120 |

He was OK on the Olympics but, if he (or any other sports presenter) comes on Breakfast, I turn the sound down! Especially Mike Bushell who I cannot stand.

You don't think the frequent use of the "confused," smiley patronising?
Well, mimi, I think it is. Some use it far too often.....I've never used it, ever. If I were irked by use of others' use of smileys, maybe I would look at the actual words I had written earlier that provoked such a response. I find "Er....." patronising. We're all different |

I use smileys very rarely so pay little attention to them, I consider them extraneous punctuation. The Roll Eyes one (now retired) was patronising which is why it was binned.

We're all different I think that on occasions people add a smiley, when they are directing a post at another contributor, just to make it look as if they didn't mean what they said, in case their post gets modded for being unfriendly. |

Don't worry about it mimi.

Smileys have their use in forums, they try to fill in the gaps that facial expressions provide in face to face conversations. Judicious use of them can change a post from being brusque and pompous, to being acceptable. Try using a few, you might be converted, especially as DS are promising us new ones. (as long as they get rid of that daft dog/bear/cat which no-one undertands) |
