Hmmm if all depends on definition, a restaurant with waiter service and a bill likely to be over £100 then maybe 3 times a year, Valentines and each other's Birthdays. Still not married or engaged so that'll come another time when we actually decide to tie the knot
Something like a Harvester or a Pub dinner or a Pizzeria then about three times every couple of months |

Used to be multiple times a week, now multiple per month - partner is a trained chef so the food is better at home
![]() Now my BF lives with me, he does all the cooking! Although I probably still eat out at least twice a month. |

I can't say a regular amount as it completely depends upon what's going on. I didn't eat out once in November but I've eaten out 6 times so far in December ranging from an £8 pizza in Brewdog up to the best food I've ever had the pleasure of eating when we went to Sat Bains! Generally I tend to go with the approach of eating out less often but at nice places. I'll always go self catering on holiday too so we can eat out at different places every day. Quote:

Obviously it's subjective but I get a huge amount of pleasure from food and drink and firmly believe that value for money is linked to enjoyment. If you enjoy something then it's value for money. For me, eating at a really good restaurant is a fantastic experience and something you can't replicate at home (unless you're a Michelin starred chef or live with one). For me spending £150 a head on a meal that is one of the best you've ever had is far more value for money than a £5 microwaved meal in Wetherspoons. |

I use to eat out probably 2 to 3 times a week. When my relationship ended it dropped to a couple of times a month.
In the last 6 months not at all. I miss it but have terrible anxiety that all I can cope with is a routine of work and home. |

It varies. Some months it's never, other months it's two, sometimes three evenings. Usually when catching up with old friends, or before/after a cinema viewing with more common friends.Quote:

It depends on the time of year. I always go to Cornwall in June and eat out at least once a day. Then in December I'll eat out more because of Christmas.
But during other times of the year I can go several months without eating out. |

Except for hotel stays - never - and if this week-end's hotel meals were anything to go by it will be a long time before we do it again.
Stayed in a 4* in Granada and would have been ashamed to have served that crap to anybody, not because it was Spanish food but the quality and coldness of it was appalling. |

Probably 3 times a week?
Typically one meal out on a Friday or Saturday night then a lunch out during the week and then maybe something like a breakfast out or a Sunday roast out. In reality with a lunch out or a coffee and a panini out most weekends it can get to maybe 5 times a week Off for Christmas now so likely to go up too. Me and my family can all cook well but going out for food isn't that big a expense so enjoy doing it. Usually it's around £20 a head for a dinner or around £8 for a lunch/ drink so nothing extortionate although maybe every 3 months Will go somewhere a bit more premium |

It's reading threads like this that makes me realize how 'different' a lot of the posters are on here. I mean never eating out . . . . .do you not go for a meal for family birthdays? Or out with work? Or on holiday? Have you never just been away from home for a while and needed to eat? Or popped into a pub to see a friend and decided to get something?
To be fair it's probably been 3-4 weeks since I last ate at a pub and maybe 2.5 months since I was in an actual restaurant. But then I have a 'lull' between September and December where there are no family birthdays. |
