We have a lot of Nepalese people around here and I teach a lot of Nepalese children. Never met a nicer, harder working, more polite bunch of people. Frankly, I would happily get rid of some of the locals and move more Nepalese people into the area. It would improve the place no end.

Everyone knows ALL Gurkhas are all polite and well behaved. None of them ever spit or barge you out the way when marauding past you.

You are like Northerners who think everyone is wealthy and posh in the South. There are shitloads of poor people in the South.

I beg to differ. I lived in Walton on Thames for a while and there was only one person on the Avenue who was a bit common, and even they were Mick Hucknall.

Lemoncurd has a location of Bristol, not sure even in the wildest of dreams that could be described as northern england.

Although as someone from the south east I do agree, we are always lumped in with London yet looking at the statistics we receive the lowest government spend per capita of anywhere in the UK. Poverty in the South East exists and is ignored

That is why I put "like" in the sentence.

To be fair to David, I am a Northerner (Bolton born and bred!).
Bristol is down south and is well posh.

The Gurkha's have been staunch friends and have earned their place in our country if that's what they truly wish. They deserve far better than to be dumped in an area that does not have the facilities to care for them.

An ex council house in these parts will set you back 300k plus.

Like your humour, LC

Actually, most Gurkhas are inveterate gamblers and that photo could have been taken in any Aldershot bookies.

A few years back Gurkha soldiers from the local battalion were banned from the betting shops in Cheriton (Folkestone) because a number were being feckless with the housekeeping money.
