Epson ink spy
Does anybody know of a safe way to block whatever it is that's snooping on my printer (SX435W) and telling tales about third-party cartridges?

Uninstall the device management software and just use the basic drivers.

Hi,
I had the same thing happen to me with the SX535WD. A quick Google search about SX435W auto update settings wasn't much help, but I'm assuming that you can right click on the printer icon in the notification area of the taskbar (this is for W7) and select Auto Update Settings. When the Settings window opens change Firmware Update to Never then click Apply then OK. That'll stop it. |

Its terrible that printer manufactures have resulted to this. If they didn't charge a arm and leg for cartridges in the first place people wouldn't have to use alternatives to the official ink.
