They're US nukes, not NATO, and I suspect they're long gone, ie removed after the coup attempt.

Russia will be wanting a good explanation for the lapse in security, including possibly their own. So should there have been an embassy security detail with the ambassador?

There's blood after the Turkish troops had dealt with the shooter. From the video, I suspect it was a couple of shots into the ambassador's back, and then into the air. Police tend to use hollow point rounds, so designed to expand inside the target and not over penetrate. The ambassador fell on his front, so that would reduce visible bleeding. Unless an artery got hit, most of the blood would probably be going into the lungs/body cavity in the time the video ran for.

I agree but I fear Russia will strike back brutally, relations between the Turks and Russia are not entente cordial.

I always believed turkey and Russia would go to war, the goat botherer will scramble everything to distance himself from the murder but Russians won't care and Trump likely to back Russia.

Seems the US nukes are still in Incirlik airbase in Turkey roughly 100km from the Syrian border. Obama has no intention of moving them.

Trump may do so first day of office, Obama is a lame duck and his time is gone.

With that kind of thing, there's rarely a straight answer. It would seem.. sensible to take precautions though, but maybe Obama's more concerned about saving Incirlik's golf course.

Just because Trump won an election, doesn't mean he will be allowed to do what he wants. Like with the referendum here, the losing side still gets to steer the ship to an extent.

Who knows, all we do know is Obama and Hillary were exceptionally pro-Turkish in general. Trump may believe the nukes are safer away from Turkey, but I am sure many in the US - at the higher levels - the elites etc.. will wish to keep Turkey relevant and powerful at all costs. Most of them are still living in the 1950s concerning Russia and like our elites here - it is Turkey that must be promoted and strengthened at all costs.

A golf course?

In that case, Donnie will certainly want to keep it open and maybe even build a hotel there.

I wouldn't bother trying to explain. These false flag videos are often made by people who instinctively think every high profile death event is a false flag, coupled with knowledge of ballistics garnered from their DVD collection, if a death doesn't look like a Quentin Tarantino blood bath, it can't be real.

In December 2015, Trump stated in a radio interview that he had a "conflict of interest" in dealing with Turkey because of his property, saying "I have a little conflict of interest, because I have a major, major building in Istanbul ... It’s called Trump Towers. Two towers, instead of one. Not the usual one, it’s two. And I’ve gotten to know Turkey very well.

I know it's just a silly you tube conspiracy theory video but it does highlight some apparent oddities in what happened. Why is there no blood after up to 8 shots were fired, why was the shooter just standing Randomly behind as he was speaking and why did the camera stay still during the shooting and then the apparently calm camera man zooms out after the ambassador had fallen to the ground to show the body.

It does obviously contain graphic footage. The Aussie guy doing the commentary certainly doesn't mince his words about what he thinks about what he has seen..

Problem with the Internet is it gives everyone a voice, even though in that Aussie video, it probably wasn't emanating from the guy's mouth.

Problem with this event is it's generally considered very poor form to kill diplomats.. because if you do, then there's less scope for diplomacy. Russia is going to be distinctly unamused.

Shots aren't that important and the shooter may have shot into the air to scare. As for blood, reality is entry wounds often don't bleed much. The shooter did look as though he belonged there, so once his status has been confirmed, that might get answered.

Cameras get set up to frame for a static shot and at a public event, often there's many cameras.. So once set up, cameramen get out of the way. Or, if the shooter was firing randomly, camera person may have been busy ducking or just froze.. Then training kicks in to get the shot/story.

Trump has got the House, and the Senate on his side, so he will have a fair bit of leeway.

His Senators and much of the house think he's an idiot. He also needs 60 votes in the Senate unless, and until, someone changes the debate rules.

He can as commander in Chief though , just not honour overseas commitments.

But Erdogan can always turn these into mosques. And it would be illegal of Trump to defend his own interests by retaliating.

It's OK though to assassinate "enemies of the state"

Service pistols now have 15 in the clip, so he's still had 7 rounds left, or 8 if he had one in the chamber.

That varies, so isn't something to gamble on. But most semi-automatics also have a slide lock that locks the slide back when the magazine is empty.

Murderer was a member of a secular family. Guess that means we round up the atheists.

Turkish press - from a different angle, this appears to be another photo from that corner?

On the bigger version of the photo you can also see blood beneath the back of the ambassador's head and the shell casings
