But it's not just one, as yet unexplained, maniac, is it ? It's the twisted mind-set of hundreds of thousands (possibly millions) who follow the extreme teachings of this particular brand of their religion.
Their leaders have actually called for this type of attack, so it's not a great stretch to assume that this evil deed was carried out by one of their fanatical supporters. I think it's irrelevant whether the culprit belonged to a terror cell or if he was just working alone, the cause and result were the same.
I don't call for mass deportation, but we should be screening new arrivals more thoroughly. Probably too late for Germany though.
