I have, They are ludicrous. Anyway lets discuss the actual topic now and not derail from this awful news in Germany.
Which part was ludicrous, exactly?

Shepard Smith on Fox News: "Berlin police are now saying 9 people are dead. Witnesses are saying that the truck was travelling at at least 40 miles per hour."

Well said.

I despair on here sometimes.

British witness said the truck ploughed into the middle of the market at high speed.

Accident my arse.
wait and see before you have any details isn`t ludicrous.

On the general forum, I simply wrote RIP in their topic on the same incident. This is the political forum. So I started a thread on the political implications.
You do know posts are time stamped.

Listening to a witness on Sky just now... it sounds deliberate.
The problem with Sky News, as well as almost every other news channel these days, is that they want it to be terrorists, and the quicker they can jump on the bandwagon the more visitors they will receive. Ker-ching!

I think most German urban speed limits are around 25mph, so for a truck to be going very fast then you would imagine it must be deliberate - plus a Christmas market being hit.

Sadly it seems to be one of those awful events where the death toll seems to be rising by the minute.

Berlin is such a liberal and tolerant city as well.

BBC is always so delayed and behind compared to other news outlets

It's like the Southern Rail of TV Networks

I do. I discovered the general forum topic after I started this one, not before. I know in these times, one can get turned around a little, but there really is no conspiracy. I have not seen you express any sympathy for the victims - only snipe at FMs, but I do not assume that is because you have no sympathy - just different priorities I guess.

It's called fact checking.

Words fail me. At least you have shown your true colours.

Anyway back to Berlin, there are more photos here - http://www.bild.de/regional/berlin/w...7292.bild.html

At least 9 dead according to Bild.

Sky, and several other TV outlets do indeed tend to make early assumptions although I doubt it is to increase viewer numbers, however the BIB is rather distasteful in the circumstances

They do seem slower but generally get the facts correct.

I was in that square a few months ago. It's a big public transport interchange as it's near the zoo, the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church and a lot of hotels. I'd imagine it would have been very busy there with the Christmas market.

I don't consider posting on a forum as showing sympathy, so it's unlikely you will see it from me in here.

Yes, the BBC is often late as it has a tendency to ensure that most stories are verified by at least 2 independent sources before going to air.

An off duty Turkish police officer has shot dead the Russian Ambassador to Turkey. That is an act of terrorism and been reported as such.

I guess the speculation is based on what happened in Nice in July.
