Demonstrating how so many people could and still can get into Europe, even get themselves a criminal record, wander off anywhere they please and get away with anything. Shameful good old EU/Germany. Apparently he was under covert surveillance in Germany which was called off in September while he waited in freedom to be deported.

BBC - people believed to have been there and unaccounted for.http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-38394412 Not surprisingly I feel the victim's loved ones are a priority rather than the general public.

Even the investigation seems confused.

From guardian live blog this afternoon

- Tunisian suspects eye's shielded to not identify him
- next, a warning to not approach him "armed & dangerous" - if people can't identify how can they avoid?
- another minister asks media not to speculate about his identity
- then they release the full photo of the suspect
- then the interior ministry tweets about his identity, origins etc and then has to apologise and delete the tweet
- finally an hour later, issue a reward and a full description from the federal prosecutor!
I appreciate it's difficult for them but Anyway at least they have had 500 calls from the public and say they expect to track him down by tomorrow!

I hope this suspect is not planning to go out in a blaze of glory with more victims, considering that he appears well connected with a support system and presumably access to other weapons.

Well, arguably, one of them has. An Italian female national aged 31, who was pictured on the news earlier. Apparently her phone and metro pass were found at the scene, but no body, and no trace of her.

What the hell is all that about?

The obviously bizarre nature of this was not mentioned during the report.

Excuse the language but why in the name of all f**k was this guy allowed to roam about Europe unchecked?

Are there still people out there who believe that having tens of thousands undocumented and unvetted males crossing Europe is a jolly good state of affairs?

Seems an allegory for the current Germancentric direction of the EU. Very confused at all levels and panicked.

It does literally beggar all belief. What in Christ's name is going on over there?

It shows how chained to "rights", "sensitivities" and protocols the German establishment has become in a socio-political exercise of somehow convincing that country's people that this Refugees Welcome at any cost business is some noble cause.
Ordinary people are kicking back against this mindset (also found in Sweden and espoused by some here) and are then tarred with being Fascists or some kind of Far Right extremist even if their only concern is for the safety of innocent fellow citizens, regardless of their origins.

Sadly, she may have died and not been identified. They've said that they've not been able to obtain positive identification of all of the deceased yet. I remember how long it took to be able to release the names of the victims after the Tunisian massacre for the same reason. In the meantime their desperate loved ones suffer hell.

Nothing is ever going to change until heads are out from ars£s but I can't see that happening anytime soon.

It' s incidents like this that make me genuinely glad that the UK is an island and one simply can' t just casually stroll accross the border.

But hey, if this guy had made his way to Calais and claimed to be a 17 year old Syrian he would doubtless be in the UK now, possibly living with Lily Allen or Nicola Sturgeon (every cloud etc). And let' s face it, with this guys record of extreme dishonesty that is not a far fetched scenario.

Just been reading about the driver - poor bugger put up a brave fight.

" There appears to be evidence that, despite being stabbed, Mr Urban wrestled his hijacker for the steering wheel.

The post-mortem examination suggests that Mr Urban survived up until the attack and was shot dead when the truck came to a halt. No gun has been recovered."

Why, in Germany, has the Tunisian not been fully named, and they are unable to show his picture without his eyes blacked out?
Rules say they are not allowed.

You couldn't make it up.

It's just more evidence of how totally unwilling European governments are to protect their citizens and properly marshal who is allowed to roam around their countries.

Sounds like he was living up to his country's reputation. His was the nation that charged tanks with cavalry.

And you don't believe that there are jihadists here already? On watch lists? Under surveillance? Because when the UK gets hit, and it will, I predict that the perpetrator will be someone already known to the security services. But by then it'll be too late.

Yes, I imagine that many German citizens must have believed that old quote from the Statue of Liberty..."Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free".
Unfortunately, the truth is very different. A cursory glance at the behaviour of some ot the young single males in the camps should have been warning enough. Even forgetting the terrorists, they have imported a whole lot of trouble.

I can remember a post on DS, a while back now, where some were defending the influx of refugees claiming that all refugees were genuine and harmless. When the search engine is fixed (if ever) it'll be interesting to see if those same posters still agree with their claims.

Oh god yes I believe there are jihadists here already. And anyone who truly believes that there aren't should give their heads a wobble. I said in earlier posts in this thread that it's a matter of "when and not if".

I'm sure I've read somewhere that there are currently about 15000 on MI5's watch list. Most of them probably bedroom bound teenagers with brave fingers, but it's still an alarming number.

There's plenty of nutters here. Foreign and homegrown.

You only have to look to the amount of supporters of Tanveer Ahmed (Murdered a fellow Muslim for not being Muslim enough) to see that there are serious problems ahead.

I remember last year when the migrant crisis was THE story, the BBC sort of did an unofficial journey accross Europe diary with a disabled little girl crossing Europe in her rickety wheelchair

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-34275165

One of the most blatantly emotive pieces of BBC journalism in recent years (I believe Human Interest story is the current phrase). Even then if you ignored the handpicked photogenic disabled girl with the camera stuck in her face, and looked in the background you saw and endless stream of 20 something males hiding under hoodies.

Did anyone actually fall for that s**t? I thought leftie multiculturalists where supposed to be the intelligent ones.....
