Yes, just imagine the complete contrast between before where people were enjoying the run up to Christmas with wine, music and a nice atmosphere and then the sound of screaming, sirens and the vision of blood covered pavements, those scenes will never go away even for the people who were not hurt.

Truly shocking.

Scumbags. I hope people like this are wiped off the face of the Earth. I can't imagine the horror for those involved.

Depends how seriously injured, the 50 injured are, whether the death toll will be higher or not.

It happened a while ago now and it hasn't risen from nine yet.

Hence why they ask people not to spread rumours or post videos. Unfortunately where social media works for the police, it also sometimes 'works' against them!

Bbc just been queried over their terminology- the newscaster just read out online that they are using the German reported terminology ' attack'

Oh give over with your whining . There are people dead in Berlin . They went out to enjoy a beautiful city , to see the wonder of Ku 'dam at Christmas , to wander the market . Now they are dead and injured and lives shattered .

The passenger of the truck, who drove to the Christmas market at #Breitscheidplatz, died on the spot.

I did watch the video, and all I can say is well done to all those people who stopped to tend or comfort those that were injured - it was an horrific situation

I'd like to think I'd be helping but there's a good chance I'd be running away. I certainly wouldn't be standing around filming it.

It seems that some people's reaction to anything is to take out their phones and start recording. You even see video from inside planes when they have crash landed and are being evacuated. If I was in a situation like that creating a video for Twitter or YouTube would be the last thing on my mind.

I'm not whining. Just because people are dead doesn't mean that I don't have a right to reply. If you'd rather stay on topic I suggest you don't make posts like the one above.

I think they were on alert last week for that.

Horrible events. And a shooting in Zurich as well.

I don't understand it either but then I use my phone as a phone. It seems that many people, especially the young, use their phones as an extension of their life and comment on, or record even the most minor things. A different mindset. I guess

Some things need to filmed to record the true atrocities that go on in this world.

No it won't, but if and when normally law abiding Germans unlawfully, but understandably, crack and begin to kick Muslim ass because of this, it plays well to the folks back home, who are told, "see, this is what the West does to our brothers and sisters, come get measured for your suicide vest, or take HGV driving lessons."
