I did a similar thread last year and similar to the tours you hope for in 2017 thread.

I hope we get albums in 2017 from:

> Britney - will probably not be til Nov/Dec 2017 but shes already working on it. Praying to god she also finally leaves Vegas and announces world tour for 2018/2019 to celebrate her 20 years in the music industry
> P!nk - its been 4 years [next September itll be 5 years] I know shes pregnant but she looks like shes due very early 2017 [March at the very latest] so hope we get a new album by next Christmas
> Jessie J - Although doubt this will happen seeing as she said shes not even started her next one
> Cher - I read somewhere shes recording

I am so glad that new albums from Alison Krauss and LeAnn Rimes are coming, but I'd love to see new album from James Otto, Tanya Tucker, Trace Adkins, and Darryl Worley be right behind them.

God bless you and them and Alison and LeAnn always!!!

Holly

P.S. The new album from LeAnn is the one that has already been released in Europe named Remnants. It is to be released here in the states on February 3rd.

The Cardigans – won't happen though.

If the next Suede album can match this year's Night Thoughts it will be an absolute belter.

I'd also like to think Blondie could produce one more genuinely good album to leave for posterity.

Some of us have been waiting over 40 years for the sequel to the original!

The Cure.

It's been 8 years since their last studio album. The 2nd half of that album was never released. The remastered deluxe editions of their last 4 Fiction Records releases never appeared, and there are dozens of live shows recorded in HD with no Blu Ray/DVD release scheduled. The Wembley Show I was at earlier this month was filmed - will that ever appear anywhere?

The Cure have some new songs so a new album looks a possibilty, but to be honest, they don't exactly set the world alight.

I always feel like there should be at least 2 years between albums, so that immediately rules out a lot of my favourite artists, who all released material in 2016. That said, I'd like to hear more from:

Imagine Dragons:
I want something more from them. Night Visions was a fantastic debut album and really put them on the map, but Smoke and Mirrors was just a weird and frustrating album. Some solid tracks sure, but nothing really stands out, and you get the feeling that they were already running out of ideas, on album #2 no less. Since then, they've released arguably their best song for the soundtrack of "Me Before You", and I want to see them head in this direction. They need to focus on the lead vocalist, but he has a really strong voice.

Becky Hill:
Come on now Becky, we've been waiting for an album for the best part of 4 years when he was first on The Voice UK. An extremely talented vocalist, I'm really eager to see what direction she takes her solo career, and a couple of promising tracks like 'Warm' indicate that she's heading the right way. The Voice desperately needs a success story, and Becky could provide that, but I really am needing to hear an album at this point.

Taylor Swift:
I've always been a fan of Taylor (Spotify stroppiness aside) and I'm eager to see where she goes next. Hopefully she'll avoid a catalogue of Calvin Harris breakup tracks and do what she does best, sing. Although her current pop stuff has been fantastic, I wouldn't mind seeing her add in a few elements of her country roots, as I've always had a soft spot for some of her older material.

Deaf Havana:
This is the one for me. The most anticipated album of the year, which is unbelievably not out yet. They released the brilliant Cassiopeia in late 2015, and 3 tracks and 12 months later, still nothing. Each new track they release though has been wonderful, and they're latest song "St Pauls" is probably my favourite song of 2016. It bodes well for the album to hear such consistently wonderful material, but my patience wears thin. Album. Now. Please.

CHVRCHES:
Yes they released an album late 2015, but I don't care. They are probably my favourite band right now, and they haven't yet written a song I don't like. Lauren Mayberry's vocals are absolutely gorgeous, and the songwriting and instrumentals have been top quality in every song they've written. And after Warning Call came out this year to partner up with the new Mirror's Edge video game, there seems to be no signs of slowing down. I wouldn't expect anything from them, but I can remain hopeful.

Fall Out Boy:
Save Rock and Roll was excellent. American Beauty/American Psycho was not. This needs rectifying post haste.

Paolo Nutini.

He is doing a headline show for Edinburgh's Hogmanay (New Year) celebrations - his first gig in a while. I have wondered if he could be ready to release a new album at some point next year?

I'm hoping to get new albums from Pink (think it'll be later in the year)
Snow Patrol - think their last album was 2011
Kelly Clarkson - just because it might mean a tour again. She cancelled her last UK one & I had tickets
The Killers
Maybe Madonna
Not holding my breath for a new Shania album

awww me too It was so annoying because she announced the tour in the August then only a month and a half later she announced she was pregnant and cancelled the tour! I was so peed off. Fair enough if she announced the tour then months later found out she was pregnant I would've understood but it was the fact that it was only something like 5-6 weeks later Still would love to see her though!

But didn't she cancel the tour because the doctor forced her to go on vocal rest? I think she knew she was pregnant and was gonna work through it.

Yeh you're right but think the pregnancy was also the other reason. I remember her saying in an interview after having her first child she was constantly ill and was hospitalised at one point and then after she had her second child she said she wont be having any more because she was constantly ill again with that pregnancy. So to be honest I think her being on vocal rest was just either an excuse or a small added reason which wouldn't have been a problem if she wasn't pregnant. Because she cancelled like 6 or 7 weeks before, I cant imagine her needing vocal rest for 6 or 7 weeks and STILL her voice not be fit enough to tour

I don't ever see The Saturdays coming out of their hiatus. Frankie is a stay at home mum now. Rochelle is a tv presenter and expecting her second child with husband, Marvin at some point in the Spring next year. Una, Mollie and Vanessa are all aspiring to become solo artists in their own right.

With the turquoise block appearing on Ed Sheeran's twitter account recently, I suspect like many his third album will come out next year at some point.

Now, this is most interesting of all. I was reading just a couple of days ago that Naughty Boy (Shadid Khan) has been working with George Michael on new material. Whether or not, this will lead to a new album - which would by next year be his 1st in five years - I don't know.
