But mark my words, if it doesn't, it's lost this viewer for good.”

I doubt it, I reckon you've got a stronger tie than you think

I suspect that half of the complaints are from disgruntled Corrie fans taking out their frustrations on Eastenders, because Corrie is far from perfect at the moment.

As someone who loves both shows these types of comments do nothing but stir up silly soap wars on here imo.

Corrie and EE imo are both pretty good at the moment

This thread isn't about my opinion on the soap it's just asking what's all the hate towards EE...

I'm liking it at the moment, I enjoyed the last couple of eps with the santas stealing the tree and then Ian letting the community have those trees and everyone dressing them and I'm liking the play storyline, it was funny last night when things kept going wrong.

There's big drama ahead with the Ronnie and Roxy death storyline so hopefully that will be good too.

The forum is for expressing opinions. You start a thread where you decide if people's opinions are valid or not or if they are "stupid excuses"... Absolutely gold. Delusions of grandeur.

The problem is that the OP is being challenged on being dismissive... toys and pram issues

I think it comes with the territory of EE having more fans on this board than the other soaps.

When there is a good period there are endless threads clogging up the boards saying how great such and such a character or storyline is. People saying when EE is on form its the best soap, blah blah blah! People don't complain when there is lots of praise.

However, the fact so many people are finding it poor is the single reason for many of these threads. I'm afraid its a topical discussion board, if you cannot take criticism, I'd suggest heading for walford web because that is solely for fans of the show.

I think the vast majority on this board watch EastEnders yes.
I remember all the threads lauding Dominic Treadwell Collins, it was even quite nauseating at some points, now we have the polar opposite with constant threads bashing the new producer - for some reason some people just cannot accept the fact that others are not enjoying the show at the moment or the direction its taking and do anything to dismiss it as just a 'small minority on a forum', or 'social media doesnt count its just illiterate teens' etc etc Denying the fact that there is such a large amount of negativity towards the show is doing EastEnders no favours at all because eventually fatigue will set in and people will just switch off.

I wouldn't say so many. It's the same few posting over and over. As a recent poll showed the majority are enjoying it. Everyone has the right to have their say though even if it does get a bit repetitive.

It just isn't as good as it used to be.

Under DTC, the show had its good and bad moments, but there will always something going on.

I feel it's not reverted to almost nothing! I like some aspects of the shows new approach, but it's extremely boring. There are still so many pointless characters and the storylines are not intriguing in the slightest.

The 'duff duff' used to be the best cliffhanger on TV. Back in 2001, you'd have been left hanging on the edge of your seat by the end of the episode. The cast was near perfect. Everyone played their part and the storylines were fantastic, because you actually cared for the characaters! Even with SOC's lighter approach, I don't care for 90% of the cast.

A lot of users defend the show and say it is like it was in the 80's, but I disagree. TV on a whole was very different in the 80's and it would feel very outdated now. It was very much fantastic for the time. Furthermore, the characaters were far superior back then. The current cast do not even compare to the likes of Den/Angie, Pauline, Nick, Mark and Michelle, etc.

The dialogue is also very unbelievable. I don't believe in most of what the characters are saying because it doesn't ring true to me at all. It loses my attention so fast these days.

Ronnie & Roxy's exit has achieved absolutely nothing. They could have been given a great exit storyline, but instead we are just going over what we have seen time and time again. Viewers are not willing to invest in it.

There are some positives, such as Kathy running the cafe again and Steve McFadden's exceptional performances, but I can't think of much else.

Of course everyone has a different opinion, but I am not liking the new era at all. Most of my friends and family stopped watching EastEnders a few years ago, but the ones that do still watch it, don't enjoy it as much as they used to, if not at all.

The Xmas play is good for community purposes, but hardly thrilling.

Bex and Shaks is your signature box ticking teen drama.

Lee's storyline has been ruined by the burglary.

Not really the best examples in my opinion

There Is a large Kat-shaped hole in the soap that Belinda made a good filling for but then she disappeared too!

I'd like to see Kat and Alfie back or at least Kat and Belinda.

Terrific post that captures exactly how I feel. I really hope the show does pick up soon, but as of tonight I don't see it.
