Fairs have always been expensive regardless of what time of the year you go. It's pulling in millions of visitors so it's clearly not that expensive. It's not a place you go to everyday and it's a treat.”

Whats the big deal?

The kids I took did have a fun day out, but would not have experienced the day if I hadn't taken them as their parents simply would not have been able to afford such a day out.

Many of the millions happened to be tourists from overseas...

If you don't consider £8 for a kids balloon expensive, or to see all the short shows at around £80 a time, what IS expensive to you?
The big deal is about being completely ripped off. About parents who are made to feel guilty for not buying their crying toddler the simple balloon he/she wants as the prices charged are far too steep.

Its a treat yes, but sadly a treat that many would not be able to afford to treat their kids to.

Many parents were having to constantly deny their kids entry to various shows, rides or food they were begging for, due to the rip off prices. £36 for 4 sausages in four mini soup rolls isn't expensive, when your still left hungry after?
If you were actually getting a kids meal for that price, there would actually be no big deal.
Considering it would take a whole day to see everything in the park, that's a lot of food & drinks needed for the day...

Of course £8 for a ballon is expensive and my parents always put the children first but even they would not of brought us one. But if it was a fun day out/treat so the cost was always irrelevant pretty much.

Maybe many of these millions have a lot more money than others have. For a treat it's a very expensive one!

Exactly , we don't all earn the same so what people who have more money shouldn't be allowed to treat the family ?

I have been twice so far this year and it is what it is.

I'd never pay full price for entry to theme parks as there are loads of 2 for 1 offers.

As someone said, the Merlin pass is fab, especially if you live the Ascot side of London. My brother and his family have them and often go to Legoland, Chessington or Thorpe Park after school.

never mind, they'l be able to take them for free to Westminster for the NYE fireworks, oh no, sorry Boris has pretty much barred them from that as well
