She could have fallen asleep in the house of a rapist as far as she is aware.
By me throwing water over her, it will hopefully sober her up rather quickly, but more importantly she would have hopefully learnt a lesson by not getting so drunk she had no idea what she was doing. |

Worse than waking up in a house of someone who could potentially be dangerous?

I may be harsh yes, but frankly if you're stupid enough to drink yourself into such a stupor then you deserve to be startled with a cold bucket of water frankly.
You're not being harsh, frankly, you're being stupid. Quote:
What lesson is she going to learn with a softly softly approach? I'd rather she learn the first time than risk her thinking it was ok to do it again.
Let the police handle it.

The vigilante approach? No it wouldn't sober her up, that's down to her blood alcohol level and mother nature and she probably wouldn't even remember it happening for it to act as a deterrent. You could also get yourself done for assault.
I guess I just have very little sympathy towards drunk people, compared to the rest of the posters here. Its like those who drink themselves into A&E every weekend, they get treated well and therefore never learn their lesson and do it all again the following week. Some people need to know their behaviour will get them into trouble, and to be frank, they should consider themselves lucky its only water. |

No!! The more the merrier!
It's odd because it's happening a lot, with absolutely zero explanation. |

Exactly, you've got someone who is probably still drunk, so not thinking straight, in a strange place, not knowing how they got there...someone has just thrown cold water on their face, they're alert, and acting on purely on instinct...in their eyes you are the aggressor. You are putting yourself I'm a needlessly dangerous situation.
You're not being harsh, frankly, you're being stupid. Let the police handle it. LOL, someone breaks into my home and I'm supposed to treat them with kid gloves, otherwise I'm stupid? I will treat them like the trespasser they are frankly. If and when the police ever get there, a drunk woman is hardly considered dangerous and I'll probably be way down on the list of police priorities. |

Eitherway it's wrong, because you don't have "a women" - grammatically, that's a nonsense. you have "women" or the specific number of women.

You might want to give that a tidy up if you're really going to make such a big deal about what may actually just be a typo.

Draw all over her face, cover her with whipped cream, take a picture, post it on Reddit. Then wake her up and send her on her way.
In all seriousness, I'd be wondering how the hell she got in. As I live in a flat, said (drunk) person would have to somehow unlock two locked doors, climb some stairs, and then make her way past the bedroom to the living room to get to the sofa. If she managed that, she'd be quite skilled when drunk! |

Barricade the room, i'm not going near her and not letting her get near me, you have no clue what they may have on them. Call the police.

No you're supposed be smart about it. Quote:

You don't know how dangerous she is, just because it's a woman doesn't mean she doesn't pose a threat, you have no idea about her character, she could also be concealing a knife for all you know. I'm not in a position to say how much priority you would receive, but I'd like to think that if you called the police and told them you have an intruder in your house they'd get there pretty quick (particularly if you sound alarmed and are econimical/selective wth the truth).

It's very unlikely to be a typo as typos usually involve typing an adjacent key to the correct one. The most plausible explanation is that, alongside numerous other Internet users, the OP actually believed that was the right way to spell "woman".
Autocorrect functions on mobiles and tablets often use predictive algorithms to use the word used most frequently; so when the OP got to typing 'wom' it might have changed it to 'women' without the OP realising. So, although you may be correct it was a spelling mistake, to suggest it's very unlikely seems excessive. |

Depending on what piece of hardware the OP was using when posting, it could quite easily be a typo.

So, although you may be correct it was a spelling mistake, to suggest it's very unlikely seems excessive. ETA: tablet gives me "woman" after "a" and "women" with no letter preceding. It's not that I'm concerned about the error in and of itself, that's unimportant. I'm interested as to why it's now happening so often. It's only in the last couple of years or so that the trend has emerged. Anyway, whatever. Best leave it at that. |

Some woman who wakes up in a strange place probably wearing skimpy clothing will feel threatened and will either submit or will fight and thus it will go downhill probably very fast as they start to become violent.

Sorry, but I disagree. It's happening way too often with the same word for it to be down to predictive text. For reference I've just tried my phone and after "wom" it gives me two choices "woman", highlighted in the centre, and women. No autocorrection to either.
ETA: tablet gives me "woman" after "a" and "women" with no letter preceding. It's not that I'm concerned about the error in and of itself, that's unimportant. I'm interested as to why it's now happening so often. It's only in the last couple of years or so that the trend has emerged. Also the auto correct or perhaps auto suggest functions rely on what you type most. So the OP and you may have entirely different results. But anyway, home time! |
