Why ?

Season 8 ended the show perfectly. And i mean perfectly. Season 9, for me, was a separate entity which I didn't actually mind, but, again for me, Scrubs had finished.

I suppose everyone wants to jump on the reunion bandwagon though with potential Netflix or Amazon money so maybe that's why they're looking at it.

I think he's only saying it 'could' happen in the sense that, well, yeah, anything could happen. It doesn't imply that it will or that anyone's actually giving it serious thought. Just that it's discussed from time to time and he'd be up for it.

He also acknowledges that it'd be band-wagon jumping if it did come back, so maybe that's his passive-aggressive way of saying 'Every other f*cker's doing it, so why shouldn't we cash-in too'.

I was watching on YouTube the other day best of the 'extras'- the characters they had made up like Hooch, snoop dog, beard face and all that. I think it was pretty clever well run program- creative. Though mostly this only worked behind the principle dynamic of JD and Turk. So the query if they can either find just as entertaining main focal characters to then play off with the inventions. Presumably I guess it's looking at bringing back JD and Turk.

Seems a bit of a non-story really. An actor saying 'I'd be up for it' is pretty much as far away from a series revival as you can get.

Scrubs was one of the greatest shows I've watched, and as you say ended perfectly with My Finale. I actually hated that they then immediately announced and produced a 9th season, and after giving it the courtesy of watching the first couple of episodes, decided it was crap and ignored it.

I wouldn't really care if they did try making more now since the damage was already done.

Season 9 was awful and the only character I liked was Denise and she debuted in Season 8 so if they ever did return I wouldn't mind her returning.

I considered Scrubs to easily be the best comedy on TV for quite a few years in a row when it first aired (OK, as long as everyone like me ignores the dreadful season 9). I'm a bit ambivalent about a return of the show though after the disaster of season 9 and the long time (6 years and counting) since it finished.

If I was being a bit cynical, perhaps the lack of major success for any of the Scrubs stars after it finished might have had something to do with the possible return? BTW, for those who don't know, the Scrubs creator Bill Lawrence followed up Scrubs with the reasonably enjoyable Cougar Town (including Crista Miller in the permanent cast) and even had episodes where half the Scrubs cast seemed to be in it!

I wouldn't say season 9 was a disaster, it just wasn't the same seeing the new people taking over.

But it's a shame it's not repeated on tv any more, you'd think it will be perfectly suited for comedy central.

Didn't Bill Lawrence once say that a big motivation for Scrubs Season 9 was that he didn't want the crew to be out of the job in the middle of the financial crisis?

I think that was largely the reason he went ahead with it - I think the S9 offer was on the table and he could have said no but he felt loyal to everyone and wanted them to keep working.

It kind of reminds me of Joey in a sense, that really started to find it's feet at the end of season 2 and became quite good but it was binned.

Same with Scrubs Season 9 I think. Towards the end of the season I really do think it picked up.. It would have been interesting to see how it would have fared if they'd have tried a 10th season and maybe even phased out JD and Turk so it really would stand on it's own as a spin-off rather than the same series.
