The Scottish Government's proposals have just been published..

"Scotland’s Place in Europe sets out the Scottish Government’s position following the result of the EU Referendum."

http://www.gov.scot/Publications/2016/12/9234/0

They are seeking more devolved powers and want to remain in the single market.

How do you remain in the single market without FoM and if you're having FoM how do you square that with an open border with England?

They need to stop playing this ridiculous game of chess and either call another Neverendum (which she will lose and she knows it) or actually get on with the job of running Scotland's services and infrastructure which are failing terribly.

They are just playing silly games. The last thing the SNP want is a good Brexit deal for the UK. They want the worst case scenario (as they will call pretty much anything anyway) so they can justify calling for another Indy referendum.

Independence is all they want and anything else they say is just white noise.

So Scotland manages to remain within the EU in certain respects, including FOM and border controls. That will require a hard border between Scotland and the UK (and Ireland of course.) So what would that mean, a tartan fence patrolled by kilted Scottish customs and immigration officers facing their English equivalents? Chilly work and all very Roman. The Emperor Hadrian tried it and found it difficult and expensive to maintain, and he didn't have to contend with cars, juggernauts, trains and planes, only roving bands of woad-smeared savages. In the meantime we could plan for daily border ceremonies like those that take place between India and Pakistan, with much strutting, posturing and the exchange of mutual insults (check it on YouTube -great fun!). That could be a new tourist industry. Braveheart-style bared bottoms pointing south at sunset every day before a cheering audience, with the English Border Force responding with their rhythm sticks at the ready!

So will it work having an open border between RoI and NI?

Not really up to the Scots.

It's us English that need an end to FoM, the Scots are not affected by it.

So it will be up to the English to build and maintain the border.

I took the view that the Scots would want their own hard border so as to prevent English incursions into their tender lowland parts when they weren't looking. Ouch!

In Scotland, more people voted to remain in the UK than voted to stay in the EU...yet Sturgeon is only caring about the ones who want to stay in the EU, she is the most dangerous woman in Scotland, this is going to end up in a huge messs

They are also promising a free unicorn for every child, to transform the ocean into orangeade and guaranteeing that by the year 2030 Saltcoats will have a climate similar to Los Angeles.

They can want all they want - doesn't mean they are getting it.

As a percentage of its total population, Scotland has a higher percentage of its total population who are citizens from other EU states than four out of the nine regions of the country that voted Leave. So, clearly Scots are more effected by FoM than people from those four regions are.

May shouldn't waste any time on this from Sturgeon just say no and leave her to it.

If she wants another referendum she can have one in 2020.

Theresa May will not say No. She will just leave Sturgeon to fail on her own.

Probably, and why not, although I would be tempted to remind her that in the red, white and blue Brexit, the blue bit is what's happening to the northern region of UK.

Untill they vote to leave the UK, Scotland's place in Europe is exactly the same as the UK's. Perhaps Westminister should give them another vote in a few months and make it clear its final.

We will not be 'given' our independence by you people.

We will take it, at a time of our own choosing.

You had a choice before, remember?

And now the problems Scotland would face are even more difficult so I wouldn't hold your breath.
