Why Allow Anyone With Experience On The Show
What Planet does Len live on with his comments about no Dance experience why did he not aim that comment at the Producers who hired the Celebs that had Dance experience.
In the next series they should not allow anyone on the show with experience and then will be no need for the sort of comment Len came out with. |

This isn't the first series that Len has championed the dance novice so I really don't understand why some insist on pretending it is.
Everyone on the panel has their fave type of celebs and have in every single series. It's only ever a problem with people when they seem to champion them against their own fave. |

They always have people with some dance experience just not ballroom and latin. The winners of the last two series both had dance experience.
I have backed both people without training and those with. |

It's good for us as viewers to see a range of abilities. It makes it more entertaining. It doesn't follow that the person with most experience will win though. That's just how it goes.

If it was just people who hadn't danced before it would be extremely tedious and I would suspect that the viewing figures would plummet.

For me I know some people will disagree with me but I wouldn't watch the show if it only had celebs who had no dance experience. My favourites tend to be the ones who have some dance ability e.g. Danny and Natalie being my two favourite ever contestants.
Strictly works because it is open to all celebs no matter what dance experience they have. |

Do you really want a series full of duffers?
![]() I certainly do not! They have to get the balance right, between ringers, middlers & complete novices - the judges tend to entertain the middlers/novices until a certain point... then the manipulation begins for their favourite to get to the final ![]() This year it couldn't be more blatant! "Ore's ever danced... No dance experience... Not even at his own wedding... " Makes me gag at how desperate they were this year... Hopefully with Goodman gone, the new judges will play fair and ignore the other three muppets on the panel

![]() I don't mind a good competition between non-dancers and "dirty ringahs". I just wish everyone would shut the hell up and stop beating the audience over the head with it. |

I agree with that but then the Judges should then no promote the ones with no experience.

This is my fervent hope, but I have a feeling that Darcey will be the one to take up the mantle of "moralizing judge scolding the public for not supporting the plucky non-dancer over the dirty ringah".

Let alone use that experience as a stick to beat a celebrity with. Do away with the comments based on previous experience or lack thereof. Talk about natural ability or working hard. |

The only time I get annoyed with ringers is when that ringer utterly insists they're not. *stares at DVO* |

I don't feel sorry for any celeb with previous experience. All the celebs get paid to have dance tuition (something I pay a small fortune for). For those whose interest is pursuing a career in theatre, the resulting publicity can be a huge boost to their career. It's free career development basically. They're not treated badly by any stretch of the imagination.
Some of my friends didn't know about Danny's previous experience, whereas I think it is pertinent. I don't think he was put down by any of the judges. Len was just looking for something positive to say about each of them. For Ore it was the journey. For Danny it was a consistently high standard that set the benchmark for other celebs. Danny has conducted himself well throughout Strictly and post final. He's shown himself to be a really likeable guy who can perform well. Not a bad outcome for him. There are lots of people in this world who get a really raw deal in life and I will save my sympathy for them rather than any Strictly celebs |

I like a mix of abilities. In week one I want to see someone able to carry a dance off and hopefully improve also.
I also don't mind the never danced before comments, that is that contestants usp. The public decide, I doubt it has a huge impact on the vote. I didn't vote for Ore because while I liked him he wasn't my favourite. And by the time he did his Jive again I'd used all my free votes. |

In the next series they should not allow anyone on the show with experience and then will be no need for the sort of comment Len came out with. The problem, though, is the term 'no dance experience' because if you mean 'no dance training at a dance school' then that rules out the likes of jay, danny, louise ,kara, harry, etc etc. If you mean no dance experience in front of a TV audience for, say Dancing For Comic Relief where they HAVE trained for it and where it is judged in the same way as the SCD Xmas special is, then that would also rule out the likes of Susanna Reed and Ore! So which you mean ? |
