Almost unanimous praise on social media - this is one for the history books I think.

There is life outside social media. I've never been on it and have no intention of ever doing so.
![]() It's merely a way of measuring public opinion, just like Digital Spy or reviews in the papers are. Nowhere in my post did I suggest social media was the be all and end all. You've just extrapolated that from my post and made a comment which is, frankly, both a statement of the obvious and common sense whilst being anecdotal and of generally no substance whatsoever. We're talking about how viewers responded to Emmerdale tonight - there are glowing write ups in the papers, social media search for "Emmerdale" is almost unanimously positive, DS reviews are very strong - these are all yardsticks by which to measure the popular opinion and the point is, it's been very well received indeed. |

Got to be 10/10. Brilliantly written, acted and edited, I am struggling to see a single flaw

Easily a 10/10. Fantastically done and very moving to watch. Well done to ED and especially John Middleton.

Extremely well portrayed, right down to Ashley not recognizing Laurel and friends. I've been watching Emmerdale since the very first episode and this was the best I have ever seen and the only one which has brought tears to my eyes.

10 without a shadow of a doubt. In all honesty, probably the best episode since Kim Tate left. And one of the best ever soap storylines, hands down.

People can appreciate brilliant episodes of soap without it being a "favourite" soap.

I don't usually watch Emmerdale but I thought it was an outstanding 30 minutes of drama.

10 for me. I found the episode a bit confusing but also educational.
I think the sign 'Hotten Horticultural Society' on the back of the car should have given us the clue it was Doug. It was educational because those viewers who don't know about dementia can better understand it for example Ashley not able to recognise Laurel, Doug, Aaron, Chas and the village, and seeing something/someone different. Well done to Emmerdale and John Middleton for this storyline. |
