Haha personally those women who do it to enhance jiggle are fine by me. Quite funny at times, you can tell those who are really doing it on purpose!

The guy who builds with George Clark on C 4 Amazing Spaces has the bounciest walk I have ever seen . He looks like he has springs in her feet

I must admit, I bounce really noticeably when I walk, and it's absolutely mortifying (although apparently hilarious for people who witness it ) I appear to have inherited it from my Dad, although his bounce is far more subtle than mine, the lucky sod!

I've had people commenting on it my entire life (even to the extent where strangers have shouted things out of car windows at me: ''Short arse. Gammy leg!'' or done impressions of me as they walk past.

I'm only 5 foot, and due to a combination of that and my bouncy walk, one of the guys who lived where I worked used to sing ''Hi-ho, hi-ho, it's off to work we go!'' from Snow White and the Seven Dwarves every time I walked through the building. Again, mortifying I had just just grin and bear it too, because he was in his 90s and it was probably the highlight of his day!

I've attempted to train myself to walk 'normally' but alas, I've never been able to master it.

I'm sorry but that really made me laugh out loud. You sound as though you have a good sense of humour.

Glad it gave you a laugh! I've decided to just embrace my walk as 'delightfully quirky.' The location of the staff room was rather unfortunate though. I worked in a residential home, and the staff room was just past the communal area, so I was constantly walking back and forth large groups of people to go to resident's rooms in order give medication etc.

The guy would sometimes get tired of singing ''Hi-ho'' and simply gleefully (and loudly) state: ''Here she is, bouncing past again! '' So I adopted a strategy of smiling widely whilst simultaneously bouncing off and silently praying for death

You only have to watch slo-mo footage of any crowd of people walking along and you'll see that we all 'bounce' as we walk along, it's the natural way humans move.

Known as "toe-walking". I was at school with a girl with this condition, and a friend's nephew has the same condition. Can develop with inappropriate exercise/footwear too.

Walks are funny e.g people who have bandy legs tend to list from side to side.

Short round women waddle etc.

My daughter has a "bouncy" walk but she's a very positive, happy person so it kind of suits her. It's handy too if you are trying to find her in a crowd...you can spot her a mile away.

Are they in a rush or are their legs more springy than other people's?”

I do and it has nothing to do with being in a hurry, but flat footed.

Back when I was in high school, I knew a lad who would really bounce when he walked. We used to imitate it to take the mickey out of him.
